The ASP Talon Infinity Baton, 50cm, from ASP, promises just that: unparalleled reliability and performance when it matters most.

My path to the ASP Talon Infinity Baton, 50cm was driven by a specific need: a durable, dependable, and easily deployable impact weapon for personal defense and security details. I was seeking a baton that moved beyond the limitations of traditional friction-lock designs, prone to sticking or failing in crucial moments.

Real-World Testing: Putting ASP Talon Infinity Baton, 50cm to the Test

First Use Experience

I tested the ASP Talon Infinity Baton, 50cm during a series of self-defense training scenarios on a padded mat, simulating close-quarters encounters. It was also utilized in practical drills focused on weapon retention and rapid deployment from various carry positions.

The weather conditions were diverse, ranging from a dry, controlled indoor environment to a moderately humid outdoor setting. The ASP Talon Infinity Baton, 50cm performed consistently well in both conditions, with no noticeable impact on deployment speed or locking integrity.

The ASP Talon Infinity Baton, 50cm was incredibly intuitive to use. The Talon locking mechanism required minimal practice to master. I could confidently deploy and retract the baton silently or forcefully depending on the situation.

The only initial surprise was the force required for retraction using the end cap method, it was more than anticipated but became more fluid with more frequent practice. There were no other issues discovered during the first uses.

Extended Use & Reliability

After several months of consistent use, the ASP Talon Infinity Baton, 50cm has proven to be a reliable and durable tool. It has been exposed to varying levels of simulated physical stress and continues to function flawlessly.

The only sign of wear and tear is some minor cosmetic scratching on the black finish. The locking mechanism remains tight and responsive, and the baton shows no signs of loosening or developing play.

Maintenance is incredibly simple. I periodically wipe down the baton with a clean cloth to remove dirt and debris. ASP claims that lubrication is not needed, and I haven’t found any reason to dispute that.

Compared to my previous experience with friction-lock batons, the ASP Talon Infinity Baton, 50cm is a clear winner. It deploys faster, locks more securely, and requires significantly less maintenance. This significantly outperforms traditional batons.
