ArmaLaser TR-Series for SIG P238/P938 Green Laser Sight Review

The ArmaLaser TR-Series for SIG P238/P938 Green Laser Sight Made a Bold First Impression

The ArmaLaser TR-Series for SIG P238/P938 Green Laser Sight promises enhanced accuracy and faster target acquisition for two popular concealed carry pistols. This laser sight distinguishes itself with its grip-activated technology and vibrant green laser, offering a potential advantage in various lighting conditions. ArmaLaser aims to provide a seamless integration and intuitive operation, catering to both experienced shooters and those new to laser aiming systems.

I’ve always valued accuracy, especially in close-quarters scenarios, but found traditional iron sights challenging in low-light situations with my SIG P238. The promise of rapid target acquisition with a bright green laser piqued my interest, leading me to explore the ArmaLaser TR-Series. I wanted a reliable laser system that wouldn’t compromise the concealability of my pistol.

Upon unboxing, the ArmaLaser TR-Series impressed with its compact design and robust polymer construction. The unit felt solid and well-made, suggesting a durable product capable of withstanding daily carry. The trigger guard mounted design seemed intuitive, and the included instructions suggested a quick and easy installation.

I considered the Crimson Trace LG-492G and the Streamlight TLR-6 as alternatives. The ArmaLaser, however, stood out due to its grip-activated system and the absence of a protruding switch. This design choice minimizes the risk of accidental activation and ensures a smooth draw.

My initial impression was one of cautious optimism. The ArmaLaser TR-Series appeared to be a well-engineered product with innovative features. The real test would be its performance at the range and its long-term reliability.

Real-World Testing: Putting ArmaLaser TR-Series for SIG P238/P938 Green Laser Sight to the Test

First Use Experience

My first range session with the ArmaLaser TR-Series mounted on my SIG P238 was enlightening. I tested it at an indoor range, focusing on target acquisition at 7, 15, and 25 feet. The green laser was remarkably bright and easy to see, even under the range’s fluorescent lighting.

The grip-activated system proved to be intuitive and reliable. The laser consistently activated as I gripped the pistol, eliminating the need to fumble for a button in a stressful situation. I also tested the laser in varying light conditions, including a darkened section of the range, where it provided a clear and precise aiming point.

I experienced a slight learning curve in adjusting my grip to ensure consistent activation. Repetition and minor adjustments, however, quickly resolved this issue. The laser held its zero after approximately 50 rounds, indicating a solid mount.

Extended Use & Reliability

After several months of carry and approximately 500 rounds fired, the ArmaLaser TR-Series has proven to be a reliable and valuable addition to my SIG P238. There are no signs of significant wear and tear on the polymer housing. The laser has maintained its zero through repeated firing and daily carry.

Cleaning the ArmaLaser is simple, requiring only a soft cloth to wipe away any residue. I periodically check the mounting screws to ensure they remain tight. Compared to previous laser systems with mechanical switches, the ArmaLaser’s grip-activated design eliminates the concern of accidental activation.

The ArmaLaser has exceeded my expectations for a concealed carry laser system. Its intuitive design, reliable activation, and bright green laser make it a significant improvement over traditional iron sights, particularly in low-light scenarios.
