The ArmaLaser GTOG/FLX Finger Touch Green Laser Sight for Ruger Handguns is a game-changer in the world of pistol accessories. ArmaLaser has crafted a laser sight that not only enhances accuracy but also integrates seamlessly with your Ruger handgun through its innovative FLX touch activation system. This sight offers a unique blend of cutting-edge technology and practical application, making it a compelling option for both seasoned shooters and those new to pistol customization.
For years, I’ve grappled with finding a laser sight that didn’t require fumbling with buttons or switches under pressure. The promise of instant-on activation with a natural grip, as offered by the ArmaLaser GTOG/FLX Finger Touch Green Laser Sight for Ruger Handguns, immediately piqued my interest. This hands-on review will explore if this sight truly delivers on that promise, and if it lives up to the hype in real-world tactical scenarios.
The unboxing experience was straightforward: the laser sight was securely packaged, exuding a sense of quality and precision engineering. Its lightweight DuPont Zytel FRN Polymer construction felt sturdy yet comfortable in hand, hinting at a robust build designed to withstand the rigors of regular use. The black finish seamlessly blended with my Ruger Security-9, giving it a factory-installed aesthetic, not an awkward add-on.
Initially, I considered the Crimson Trace CMR-206 Rail Master and the Streamlight TLR-6. Ultimately, the ArmaLaser GTOG/FLX Finger Touch Green Laser Sight for Ruger Handguns won me over due to its FLX activation system, which seemed more intuitive and less prone to accidental activation than a traditional push-button design. The side touch activation without FLX was also a nice added benefit.
My first impression was a mix of excitement and cautious optimism. While the concept of grip-activated lasers is revolutionary, the actual performance remains to be seen. I hoped the ArmaLaser GTOG/FLX Finger Touch Green Laser Sight for Ruger Handguns would live up to its potential, providing a reliable and intuitive aiming solution without compromising the ergonomics of my Ruger.
Real-World Testing: Putting ArmaLaser GTOG/FLX Finger Touch Green Laser Sight for Ruger Handguns to the Test
First Use Experience
My initial testing took place at an outdoor shooting range, simulating a tactical environment with various targets at different distances. The ArmaLaser GTOG/FLX Finger Touch Green Laser Sight for Ruger Handguns excelled in providing rapid target acquisition, especially in bright daylight conditions. The green laser was clearly visible, even against sunlit backdrops, significantly improving my aiming speed and accuracy.
I put the sight through its paces in slightly damp conditions to assess its weather resistance. While not fully submerged, the laser continued to function flawlessly, demonstrating its ability to withstand light moisture without any performance degradation. The grip activation remained consistent, even with slightly wet hands, proving the reliability of the ArmaLaser‘s FLX technology.
Getting accustomed to the grip activation was surprisingly quick. The sensor location where the trigger guard meets the grip felt natural, and within a few magazines, activating the laser became an unconscious part of my shooting routine. The laser activated as soon as I gripped the gun firmly, making target acquisition near instantaneous.
The only initial issue was a slight adjustment period to avoid inadvertently activating the laser during holstering. After a few practice runs, this became second nature, highlighting the importance of proper training with any new piece of equipment. Overall, the first use was overwhelmingly positive, instilling confidence in the ArmaLaser GTOG/FLX Finger Touch Green Laser Sight for Ruger Handguns‘s practical application.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of consistent use, the ArmaLaser GTOG/FLX Finger Touch Green Laser Sight for Ruger Handguns has proven to be a reliable and durable addition to my Ruger. The polymer housing shows minimal signs of wear and tear, even after being subjected to frequent handling and holster draws. The unit remains firmly mounted, with no loosening or shifting observed.
The laser’s brightness has remained consistent over time, and the battery life is acceptable. The ability to use one or two CR1/3N batteries offers flexibility, although I prefer using two for extended use. The DuPont Zytel FRN Polymer ensures it remains lightweight and robust enough for everyday carry and tactical scenarios.
Maintenance is a breeze; a quick wipe down with a clean cloth is all that’s needed to keep the laser sight functioning optimally. The windage and elevation adjustments have held their settings, requiring no further tweaks after the initial zeroing. It has far exceeded my expectations, providing a seamless and dependable laser aiming solution that enhances both speed and accuracy.
Compared to my previous experiences with other laser sights, the ArmaLaser GTOG/FLX Finger Touch Green Laser Sight for Ruger Handguns stands head and shoulders above the competition. Its intuitive grip activation, combined with its rugged build quality, make it a superior choice for anyone seeking a reliable laser aiming solution for their Ruger handgun.
