Let’s Talk About Allen Pride6 Stretch Single Point Paracord Sling
The Allen Pride6 Stretch Single Point Paracord Sling aims to offer a comfortable and versatile way to carry your firearm. Manufactured by Allen, this sling combines the strength of paracord with the added benefit of elastic stretch for increased comfort. I was intrigued by the concept of a paracord sling that incorporated stretch, as I’ve found traditional paracord slings to be somewhat rigid.
I’ve been searching for a sling that offered both single and two-point attachment options for my AR-15. My primary need was for a sling that could comfortably distribute the weight of my rifle during long days at the range and potential hunting trips. The Allen Pride6 Stretch Single Point Paracord Sling seemed to offer a promising solution.
Upon unboxing, the sling felt robust and well-constructed. The paracord braiding was tight and even, and the added elastic section gave it a noticeable amount of give. The heavy-duty ring and swivels appeared durable and ready for use, instilling confidence in its overall build quality.
I considered the Blue Force Gear Vickers Combat Applications Sling and the Magpul MS4 GEN2 Dual QD Sling System. Ultimately, I chose the Allen Pride6 Stretch Single Point Paracord Sling due to its unique combination of paracord strength, elastic stretch, and affordable price point. It seemed like a good balance of features and value.
My first impression was positive; I was pleasantly surprised by the overall feel and build quality of the sling. It exceeded my initial expectations, and I was eager to test it in a real-world scenario.
Real-World Testing: Putting Allen Pride6 Stretch Single Point Paracord Sling to the Test
First Use Experience
I tested the Allen Pride6 Stretch Single Point Paracord Sling at an outdoor shooting range during a day of tactical drills. The weather was dry and sunny, providing ideal conditions to evaluate the sling’s performance. I primarily used it in a single-point configuration with my AR-15, practicing transitions and movement drills.
The sling performed well in these conditions, distributing the weight of the rifle comfortably. The stretch in the paracord made a noticeable difference, reducing the jarring effect of the rifle bouncing against my body during movement. It definitely added to the overall comfort.
The sling was easy to adjust and manipulate, allowing for quick transitions between shooting positions. I did not experience any issues with the swivels or attachment points during the initial use. It worked flawlessly right out of the package.
One minor issue was the slightly stiff adjustment buckle, requiring a bit of effort to slide along the paracord. However, this did not significantly detract from the overall positive experience.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of consistent use at the range and on a weekend hunting trip, the Allen Pride6 Stretch Single Point Paracord Sling has held up remarkably well. There are no signs of significant wear and tear on the paracord, elastic section, or swivels. The sling has proven to be durable and reliable.
Cleaning and maintenance are straightforward; I simply wipe down the sling with a damp cloth after each use to remove any dirt or debris. The paracord is resistant to staining, and the elastic section has retained its elasticity. Maintenance is minimal.
Compared to my previous experience with standard nylon slings, the Allen Pride6 Stretch Single Point Paracord Sling offers superior comfort and a more secure feel. The stretch factor significantly reduces fatigue during extended use. It outperforms standard nylon slings in terms of comfort and shock absorption.
