First Use Experience
I first tested the Aero Precision M5 18in .308 SS Complete Upper Receiver with Flash Hider w/ ATLAS S-ONE Handguard at my local range, specifically focusing on its accuracy at 100 and 200 yards. The weather was clear, but a slight crosswind presented a good early challenge. The upper receiver paired perfectly with my existing M5 lower, and the initial setup was seamless.
The rifle performed admirably, delivering consistent groupings well within 1 MOA with match-grade ammunition. Even with cheaper surplus ammo, I was able to maintain acceptable accuracy for hunting purposes. The recoil, as expected with a .308, was noticeable but manageable, and the rifle-length gas system contributed to a smoother shooting experience.

After several months of regular use, including multiple range sessions and a hog hunting trip in central Texas, the Aero Precision M5 18in .308 SS Complete Upper Receiver with Flash Hider w/ ATLAS S-ONE Handguard has proven exceptionally reliable. I’ve put several hundred rounds through it without a single malfunction.
