The ADV ARMS CONV KIT AAC17-22G5MOD Made a Bold First Impression

For years, I’ve been a staunch advocate for versatility in firearms, and the ADV ARMS CONV KIT AAC17-22G5MOD immediately piqued my interest as a potential game-changer. This conversion kit promises to transform a Glock 17 or 22 Gen 5 into a .22 LR platform, offering a cost-effective and engaging way to train, plink, and introduce new shooters to the world of handguns. The optics-ready slide and threaded barrel sealed the deal.

I was primarily looking for a way to extend my range time without breaking the bank on ammunition. Rimfire is significantly cheaper than centerfire. I also wanted a platform that I could use to train new shooters on my Glock frame. The ADV ARMS CONV KIT AAC17-22G5MOD seemed to perfectly fit this role.

Unboxing the kit, I was immediately impressed by the build quality. The slide felt substantial and well-finished, and the magazines appeared robust. It was definitely better than many other conversion kits that I had handled in the past. My first impression was excitement and a slight dose of skepticism, hoping it would live up to its potential.

I considered the Tactical Solutions .22 LR conversion kit and the Nelson Precision Arms conversion kit. I ultimately went with the ADV ARMS CONV KIT AAC17-22G5MOD due to its price point and optics-ready slide, allowing me to seamlessly transition my existing red dot between my 9mm and .22 LR platforms. I wanted consistent controls.
