The ADAPTIVE TACTICAL AT06401 Shotgun Bandolier 45rd Black Nylon Reinforced, Non-Slip Elastic Loops, Fully Adj. Fit Made a Bold First Impression
The ADAPTIVE TACTICAL AT06401 Shotgun Bandolier 45rd Black Nylon Reinforced, Non-Slip Elastic Loops, Fully Adj. Fit promises to keep a substantial amount of shotgun shells readily accessible. For years, I’ve struggled with bulky vests and overloaded pockets while trying to maintain a manageable amount of ammo on hand, especially during multi-gun competitions and extended hunts. This bandolier from Adaptive Tactical seemed like a potentially ideal solution to streamline my loadout.
I needed a reliable way to carry a significant number of shotgun shells without sacrificing mobility or ease of access. Speed is paramount in both tactical situations and competitive shooting, and fumbling for shells can be a costly mistake. The advertised capacity of 45 shells and the promise of “non-slip elastic loops” immediately grabbed my attention.
Upon unboxing, the first thing I noticed was the robust feel of the nylon construction. The bandolier felt solid, reassuringly weighty, and the stitching appeared meticulously reinforced. Compared to some cheaper bandoliers I’ve handled, this one seemed built to last.
I considered several alternatives, including shell pouches attached to a MOLLE vest and traditional leather bandoliers. However, the ADAPTIVE TACTICAL AT06401 Shotgun Bandolier won out due to its high capacity and streamlined design. I wanted something that could be quickly donned and adjusted without the hassle of configuring multiple pouches.
My initial reaction was one of cautious optimism. The build quality seemed excellent, but I was eager to test the “non-slip elastic loops” and the overall comfort under a full load of shells. Would it live up to its promise of providing quick and reliable access to my ammunition?
Real-World Testing: Putting ADAPTIVE TACTICAL AT06401 Shotgun Bandolier 45rd Black Nylon Reinforced, Non-Slip Elastic Loops, Fully Adj. Fit to the Test
First Use Experience
I first put the ADAPTIVE TACTICAL AT06401 Shotgun Bandolier through its paces at a local shooting range during a practice session for an upcoming 3-gun match. The range offered a variety of scenarios, including close-quarters engagements and longer-range clay targets, providing a diverse testing environment. I shot both 12 gauge and 20 gauge to see how the bandolier handled both shells.
The bandolier performed surprisingly well in varying conditions. The day started cool and dry, transitioning to slightly damp and breezy by the afternoon, and the nylon material held up admirably. There was minimal shifting or discomfort as I moved through the courses.
It took a few minutes to adjust the fit to my body, but once dialed in, the bandolier felt secure and comfortable. Accessing shells was surprisingly intuitive, and the non-slip elastic loops did indeed keep the shells firmly in place, even during rapid movements. After a few runs, I felt comfortable enough to depend on the bandolier.
My only initial concern was the bandolier being loaded with 45 shells. It was too much weight for what I needed, so I adjusted it to carry 25 shells. I did not test the full 45 round capacity during the initial tests.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of consistent use, the ADAPTIVE TACTICAL AT06401 Shotgun Bandolier has proven to be a reliable piece of kit. I’ve used it in several more shooting competitions, as well as during a dove hunting trip, and it has consistently performed well. The bandolier’s performance made it easy to use my shotgun for an extended amount of time.
After extended use, the nylon material shows minimal signs of wear, with no fraying or tearing evident in any of the reinforced stitching. I have only had to spot clean it a couple of times, and it dries quickly. This has proven itself to be an incredibly valuable part of my gear.
Maintenance is simple: a quick wipe-down with a damp cloth is usually sufficient to remove dirt and grime. The nylon construction seems inherently resistant to stains, and the elastic loops have retained their tension.
Compared to previous bandoliers I’ve used, the ADAPTIVE TACTICAL model is noticeably more durable and comfortable. The consistent shell retention and fully adjustable fit make it a significant upgrade. This is one piece of gear that has exceeded my expectations.
