Let’s Talk About Pace International MOBILE WALLY/112.9837 1305908409 Dish Network Wally
The Pace International MOBILE WALLY/112.9837 1305908409 Dish Network Wally is a compact, high-definition satellite TV receiver designed for Dish Network systems. It promises to deliver a fast, quiet, and user-friendly experience, particularly in space-constrained environments like bedrooms or, as the name suggests, mobile setups.
My own interest in the Wally stemmed from a desire to equip a remote hunting cabin with satellite TV. I needed a receiver that was both small and reliable, capable of providing entertainment during those long evenings after a day in the field.
Upon unboxing, I was immediately struck by the Wally’s diminutive size. It’s noticeably smaller than the standard Dish Network receivers I’m used to, and its lightweight construction gives it a distinctly portable feel. The build quality seemed adequate, though the plastic casing felt a bit less robust than some higher-end receivers; still, it feels adequate for its intended purpose.
I considered a few alternatives, including older Dish Network receivers and generic satellite receivers from other manufacturers. Ultimately, I chose the Wally for its claimed compatibility with my existing Dish Network subscription and its compact form factor. I also appreciated the promise of quick and easy setup, a crucial factor when dealing with limited time and resources in a remote location.
My initial impression was one of cautious optimism. The size was perfect, and the features seemed well-suited to my needs. Whether it would live up to the promises of speed, reliability, and user-friendliness remained to be seen.
Real-World Testing: Putting Pace International MOBILE WALLY/112.9837 1305908409 Dish Network Wally to the Test
First Use Experience
The primary testing ground for the Wally was my remote hunting cabin, located several miles from the nearest town. I connected the receiver to my existing Dish Network satellite dish and power source, following the included instructions. The setup process was surprisingly straightforward, and I was able to activate the receiver and begin watching TV within minutes.
The Wally performed admirably in this environment, delivering a clear and stable HD picture despite the occasionally inclement weather. I experienced no issues with signal loss or buffering, even during periods of heavy rain. The interface was also intuitive and easy to navigate, a welcome surprise after dealing with some of the more cumbersome satellite receivers I’ve used in the past.
However, I did encounter one minor issue: the remote control felt a bit cheap and unresponsive. I often had to press buttons multiple times to get the desired result, which became somewhat frustrating after extended use.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of use, the Wally has proven to be a reliable and consistent performer. It has consistently provided a clear and stable satellite TV signal, even in challenging weather conditions. The receiver has also held up well to the rigors of cabin life, showing no signs of wear and tear despite being subjected to dust, humidity, and temperature fluctuations.
Cleaning and maintenance have been minimal, requiring only an occasional wipe-down with a damp cloth. The Wally has far exceeded my expectations in terms of reliability and ease of use. Compared to some of my previous experiences with satellite TV in remote locations, this has been a refreshingly smooth and hassle-free experience.
