3M Goggle Ccs Af Gry/gry Cs20 11798-00000-20 Review

Let’s Dive into 3M Goggle Ccs Af Gry/gry Cs20 11798-00000-20

The 3M Goggle Ccs Af Gry/gry Cs20 11798-00000-20 isn’t just another pair of protective eyewear; it’s a complete system designed for comfort, safety, and convenience in demanding environments. Offered by 3M, this goggle incorporates their Corded Earplug Control System (CCS), along with anti-fog lens technology into a lightweight frame. The promise of integrated earplug management and reliable eye protection immediately piqued my interest, knowing how often I juggle safety glasses and earplugs in the field.

I was looking for a solution to the constant fumbling and misplacement of earplugs while working on construction sites and at shooting ranges. The idea of having earplugs readily available and securely managed within the goggle system seemed like a game-changer. Upon unboxing the 3M Goggle Ccs Af Gry/gry Cs20 11798-00000-20, my initial impression was of a thoughtfully designed and relatively lightweight piece of equipment. The gray frame and clear lens offered a clean, professional look, and the integration of the CCS system was seamless, not bulky or awkward.

Compared to standalone safety glasses from Pyramex and basic goggles from Uvex that I’ve used in the past, the 3M goggle stood out for its all-in-one approach. Those other solutions either lacked effective earplug management or compromised on comfort. My first impression was cautiously optimistic; the concept was excellent, and the build quality seemed reasonable, but the true test would be in real-world application.

Real-World Testing: Putting 3M Goggle Ccs Af Gry/gry Cs20 11798-00000-20 to the Test

First Use Experience

My first experience with the 3M Goggle Ccs Af Gry/gry Cs20 11798-00000-20 was at an outdoor shooting range on a moderately sunny day. The anti-fog coating proved effective, even with the slight exertion of setting up targets and moving around. The ease of accessing the earplugs, dangling conveniently from the temples, was a definite improvement over digging in my bag or pockets.

The goggles performed well in slightly dusty conditions, providing a secure seal around my eyes and keeping out particulate matter. Initially, the fit felt a little snug, requiring some minor adjustment to the strap to achieve optimal comfort. However, once adjusted, the goggles remained securely in place, even with rapid head movements.

There were no major issues after the first use, but I did notice a slight pressure point on the bridge of my nose after wearing them for an extended period (over an hour). Also, the included earplugs were not the most comfortable for prolonged wear.

Extended Use & Reliability

After several weeks of use across different environments, including a dusty construction site and a damp fishing trip, the 3M Goggle Ccs Af Gry/gry Cs20 11798-00000-20 has held up reasonably well. The lens has remained relatively scratch-free, a testament to the polycarbonate material, though some minor scuffs are starting to appear. The frame and CCS system have shown no signs of structural weakness or wear.

Cleaning the goggles is straightforward; a quick rinse with water and a gentle wipe with a microfiber cloth effectively removes dirt and debris. I’ve found that the anti-fog coating gradually loses its effectiveness after repeated cleanings, requiring occasional reapplication of an anti-fog solution. Compared to my previous experience with basic safety glasses, the 3M goggles offer a significant upgrade in terms of integrated functionality and overall durability.

• Lightweight Frame: Offers comfortable wear for extended periods. This is important for all-day use, reducing strain and fatigue.
• Meets ANSI Z87.1-2003: Ensures compliance with industry safety standards. This provides assurance that the goggles meet rigorous testing criteria for impact resistance and optical clarity.

The 3M Goggle Ccs Af Gry/gry Cs20 11798-00000-20 is perfect for construction workers, shooting range enthusiasts, and anyone who frequently requires both eye and hearing protection. It’s also well-suited for individuals who work in dusty or humid environments where clear vision and readily available hearing protection are essential. Someone who constantly misplaces earplugs will also benefit greatly.

This product may not be ideal for users who prioritize maximum comfort over integrated functionality or who require specialized eye protection with specific optical properties.
