The Outdoor Connection Sling w/Brute Swivels Made a Bold First Impression
The Outdoor Connection Sling w/Brute Swivels isn’t trying to be fancy; it’s trying to be functional, and for the price, it makes a strong first impression. This sling promises comfortable carry and secure attachment, two critical features that can make or break a day in the field.
I needed a reliable sling for my newly acquired ASI PASIMAX; the factory sling was uncomfortable and felt flimsy. My search focused on a durable sling with robust swivels that wouldn’t fail under pressure, leading me to the Outdoor Connection offering.
Unboxing revealed a no-frills product; the sling, complete with Brute Swivels, felt surprisingly solid for its budget-friendly price point. The shoulder pad, at over 2 inches wide, suggested a level of comfort often absent in cheaper slings.
Compared to a basic nylon web sling and a more expensive padded sling from a premium brand, the Outdoor Connection Sling struck a balance. It offered more padding than the basic sling without the premium price tag of the higher-end model. My initial feeling was optimistic; this sling seemed like a smart purchase.
Real-World Testing: Putting Outdoor Connection Sling w/Brute Swivels to the Test
First Use Experience
My first outing with the Outdoor Connection Sling was at the shooting range, practicing with my ASI PASIMAX. The rifle, while accurate, can become tiring to hold for extended periods.
The padded shoulder area of the sling immediately proved its worth, distributing the weight effectively and preventing the strap from digging into my shoulder. The thumb loop, while seemingly simple, offered a surprisingly comfortable and secure grip, aiding in controlling the rifle’s movement.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of regular use, including a couple of weekend-long hunting trips in varying weather conditions, the Outdoor Connection Sling has held up admirably. The stitching remains intact, and the padding hasn’t compressed or lost its shape.
There are no significant signs of wear and tear beyond some minor cosmetic blemishes from rubbing against brush. Maintaining the sling has been effortless; a quick wipe down with a damp cloth is all that’s needed to remove dirt and mud. It has certainly exceeded my expectations for a sling in this price range.
