Nextorch LED Compact Weapon Light w/ Green Laser Review

The Nextorch LED Compact Weapon Light w/ Green Laser Made a Bold First Impression

The Nextorch LED Compact Weapon Light w/ Green Laser aims to be a versatile and compact solution for weapon-mounted illumination and aiming. This unit combines a 650-lumen white light with a highly visible green laser, all in a package designed for easy attachment to most common pistol rails. The combination of light and laser makes it a compelling option for both home defense and tactical applications.

My need for this product stemmed from a desire for a compact, all-in-one aiming solution for my concealed carry pistol. I wanted something that wouldn’t significantly increase the bulk of the weapon but would provide both a reliable light source and a rapid target acquisition tool. The Nextorch seemed to hit the sweet spot in terms of size, features, and price.

Unboxing the Nextorch LED Compact Weapon Light w/ Green Laser, I was immediately struck by its compact size and solid feel. The polymer body feels robust, and the twin side switches are easily accessible. The unit has a satisfying weight that suggests quality, without being overly heavy.

I considered the Streamlight TLR-6 and the Olight Baldr Mini before settling on the Nextorch. The Streamlight lacked the power I desired, while the Olight was a bit bulkier. The Nextorch LED Compact Weapon Light w/ Green Laser seemed to be the best compromise.

My initial impression was positive, but cautiously optimistic. I was excited by the potential of the light and laser combination, but eager to see how it performed in real-world conditions. I hoped the Nextorch would live up to its promise of being a compact, reliable, and effective weapon light.

Real-World Testing: Putting Nextorch LED Compact Weapon Light w/ Green Laser to the Test

First Use Experience

My first test of the Nextorch LED Compact Weapon Light w/ Green Laser was at an indoor shooting range. This environment allowed me to assess the light output and laser visibility in a controlled setting. I mounted it on my Glock 19.

The light performed admirably, providing ample illumination in the dimly lit range. The green laser was highly visible, even under the artificial lighting. The side switches were intuitive and easy to operate, even with gloves.

After the first few magazines, I noticed the laser alignment shifted slightly. This required a minor adjustment. It wasn’t a deal-breaker, but a point of concern.

Extended Use & Reliability

After several months of regular use, the Nextorch LED Compact Weapon Light w/ Green Laser has held up fairly well. I’ve used it during several range sessions and even carried it during a few nighttime hikes.

The polymer body shows some minor scuff marks from holster wear. However, the light and laser still function as expected. The finish hasn’t worn off prematurely.

Maintenance is straightforward. I wipe it down with a cloth after each use and occasionally clean the lens with a lens cleaning solution. So far, no parts have needed replacement. The windage and elevation screws still adjust and hold zero.

Compared to my previous experience with a less expensive weapon light, the Nextorch is a clear upgrade. It offers significantly better light output, a more visible laser, and a more robust build. However, the initial laser shift and need for readjustment was a small disappointment.
