Desantis Gunhide M33BJG3Z0 Insided The Pocket Ammo Nemesis – Black Color, Slick Pack Cloth Material, Pocket Size Review

The Desantis Gunhide M33BJG3Z0 Insided The Pocket Ammo Nemesis – Black Color, Slick Pack Cloth Material, Pocket Size Made a Bold First Impression

After a decade spent immersed in the world of outdoor and tactical gear, I’ve developed a keen eye for quality and practicality. The Desantis Gunhide M33BJG3Z0 Insided The Pocket Ammo Nemesis – Black Color, Slick Pack Cloth Material, Pocket Size piqued my interest as a solution for discreetly carrying a backup magazine or speed strip, a necessity I often overlooked in my everyday carry. I was drawn to its promise of secure pocket carry and minimal printing, critical for maintaining a low profile.

For years, I’ve wrestled with the challenge of carrying spare ammunition comfortably and discreetly. Bulky magazine pouches on the belt are often impractical for everyday wear, and unsecured rounds rattling in a pocket are a recipe for disaster. This seemingly simple solution from Desantis Gunhide aimed to resolve this common problem.

Upon receiving the Ammo Nemesis, my initial impression was positive. Its lightweight construction and the unique “Slick Pack Cloth” material felt promisingly non-abrasive. The build quality appeared solid, with clean stitching and a purposeful design, though its diminutive size was a stark contrast to the full-size holsters I’m accustomed to reviewing.

Compared to a traditional leather magazine pouch, the Ammo Nemesis offered a significantly smaller footprint and the promise of remaining firmly anchored in the pocket. Other options, like generic nylon pouches, often lacked the necessary rigidity and tended to shift around during movement. The Desantis product seemed to offer a more refined and secure solution.

I was cautiously optimistic. The concept was sound, and the initial quality appeared acceptable. Whether it could deliver on its promise of comfortable, discreet, and reliable carry remained to be seen.

Real-World Testing: Putting Desantis Gunhide M33BJG3Z0 Insided The Pocket Ammo Nemesis – Black Color, Slick Pack Cloth Material, Pocket Size to the Test

First Use Experience

My first outing with the Ammo Nemesis involved a trip to the shooting range, followed by a day of running errands around town. I paired it with a speed strip loaded with .38 Special rounds, fitting the holster into the front pocket of my standard work pants. I wanted to simulate real-world use, focusing on comfort and accessibility.

The Ammo Nemesis performed admirably at the range. The holster remained firmly in place during drills, and the speed strip was easily accessible when reloading my revolver. Even during active movement, like drawing from concealment, the holster stayed put, allowing for a smooth and consistent reload.

However, during my errands, I noticed a slight printing issue when wearing tighter-fitting pants. The outline of the speed strip was subtly visible through the fabric, a compromise I wasn’t thrilled about. The holster itself remained comfortable and unobtrusive, even during extended periods of sitting and walking.

Extended Use & Reliability

After several weeks of consistent use, the Ammo Nemesis has proven to be a reliable and practical addition to my everyday carry. The holster shows no signs of wear and tear, despite being subjected to regular use and the rigors of pocket carry. The stitching remains intact, and the “Slick Pack Cloth” material has retained its shape and grip.

Maintenance has been minimal; a simple wipe-down with a damp cloth is sufficient to remove any lint or debris. The holster’s simple design makes it easy to clean and maintain, a significant advantage over more complex or leather-based options. This is especially true when compared to my old leather magazine pouch.

Compared to my previous attempts at carrying spare ammunition, the Ammo Nemesis is a clear winner. Its secure pocket carry, ease of access, and minimal maintenance make it a superior solution. While the printing issue is a minor concern, it’s easily mitigated by choosing appropriate clothing or opting for a spare magazine with a lower profile.
