HANDGUN 12X17 3mm PROMAT FOR GLOCK 42-43 SCHEMATIC CHAR GRAY Review

The HANDGUN 12X17 3mm PROMAT FOR GLOCK 42-43 SCHEMATIC CHAR GRAY Made a Bold First Impression

As an outdoor and tactical gear specialist with over a decade of experience, I’ve seen my fair share of cleaning mats. However, the HANDGUN 12X17 3mm PROMAT FOR GLOCK 42-43 SCHEMATIC CHAR GRAY immediately caught my eye with its specific design catering to the Glock 42 and 43, the slimline subcompact CCW pistols I often recommend to new shooters. I was eager to test its utility and durability in real-world cleaning and maintenance scenarios.

I had been looking for a dedicated cleaning mat that wouldn’t shift around on my workbench and could clearly display the schematic for the Glock 42/43. The messy, generic mats I’d been using simply weren’t cutting it anymore. This PROMAT seemed like a perfect solution to streamline my cleaning process and prevent any accidental scratches.

Upon unboxing, the char gray color scheme and detailed schematic printed on the mat presented a clean and professional aesthetic. The PROMAT felt substantial, the 3mm vulcanized rubber providing a reassuring thickness, while the polyester top layer was soft to the touch. The build quality exuded confidence that this mat could withstand repeated use with solvents and oils.

Compared to other cleaning mats I’ve used, this one stood out because of its specific firearm model focus. Generic mats from brands like Hoppe’s or Real Avid are great for general use, but lack the tailored schematic and dimensions. I chose the HANDGUN 12X17 3mm PROMAT FOR GLOCK 42-43 SCHEMATIC CHAR GRAY because of its niche, a dedicated workspace designed for a specific firearm.

My first impression was one of pleasant surprise. The quality exceeded my expectations, and I was eager to put it through its paces.

Real-World Testing: Putting HANDGUN 12X17 3mm PROMAT FOR GLOCK 42-43 SCHEMATIC CHAR GRAY to the Test

First Use Experience

My initial testing ground was my home workbench, the usual location for cleaning my firearms. I used the PROMAT while field stripping and cleaning my Glock 43 after a training session at the range. The non-slip rubber base kept the mat securely in place, even on the slightly uneven surface of my wooden bench.

The range session involved about 200 rounds, leaving the Glock 43 moderately dirty with powder residue and carbon fouling. The PROMAT made cleaning a much more organized affair. I found the printed schematic incredibly helpful for referencing the location and names of small parts.

There were no immediate issues upon first use. The solvent and oil resistance proved effective, as spilled cleaner beaded up and wiped away easily without staining or damaging the surface.

Extended Use & Reliability

After several weeks of regular use, the HANDGUN 12X17 3mm PROMAT FOR GLOCK 42-43 SCHEMATIC CHAR GRAY has held up remarkably well. I’ve used it for cleaning my Glock 42 and 43 after numerous range trips and dry-fire practice sessions. Durability is impressive, with no signs of peeling or fading on the printed schematic.

Cleaning and maintenance have been a breeze. Any spilled solvents or oils wipe off easily with a damp cloth. The mat still looks as good as new.

Compared to previous cleaning mats, this PROMAT provides a superior experience due to its dedicated design and durable construction. It outperforms generic mats in terms of organization, surface protection, and overall longevity.
