The Breakthrough Clean Battle Born HP Pro Lube and Protectant 2 oz Squeeze Bottle Made a Bold First Impression
In the world of firearms maintenance, finding the right lubricant is like discovering the perfect grip – it can significantly enhance performance and prolong the life of your equipment. As someone who has spent over a decade immersed in the tactical and outdoor gear realm, I’ve encountered my fair share of cleaning and lubrication products, some impressive, others less so. The Breakthrough Clean Battle Born HP Pro Lube and Protectant 2 oz Squeeze Bottle immediately caught my eye with its promise of superior lubrication and protection, even in extreme conditions.
My search for a new gun lubricant stemmed from persistent issues with my AR-15’s bolt carrier group, which often experienced excessive friction and occasional malfunctions, especially after extended range sessions in dusty environments. I was looking for a lubricant that would not only reduce friction and prevent wear but also offer robust corrosion protection. I had previously used CLP (Clean, Lubricate, Protect) products that were decent all-in-one solutions, but I wanted something specifically formulated for high-performance lubrication.
Upon receiving the Breakthrough Clean Battle Born HP Pro Lube and Protectant 2 oz Squeeze Bottle, I was immediately impressed by its compact and practical packaging. The 2 oz squeeze bottle is perfect for carrying in a range bag or field kit without taking up too much space. The oil itself appeared to be a high-quality synthetic blend, based on its viscosity and clarity. Compared to other gun oils I’ve used, such as Hoppe’s No. 9 Lubricating Oil and Lucas Oil Extreme Duty Gun Oil, the Battle Born Pro Lube felt more advanced, promising better extreme-pressure protection.
My initial excitement was tempered with a healthy dose of skepticism – I’ve seen a lot of marketing hype in this industry. However, the promise of Breakthrough Clean’s dedication to quality and US-made manufacturing piqued my curiosity.
Real-World Testing: Putting Breakthrough Clean Battle Born HP Pro Lube and Protectant 2 oz Squeeze Bottle to the Test
First Use Experience
I first tested the Breakthrough Clean Battle Born HP Pro Lube and Protectant 2 oz Squeeze Bottle at an outdoor shooting range in the Mojave Desert. Temperatures hovered around 95°F, and the air was thick with dust. I applied a thin layer of the lubricant to the bolt carrier group, charging handle, and other key friction points on my AR-15 before a day of intense shooting drills.
The immediate difference was noticeable. The action felt significantly smoother, and the bolt cycled with less resistance. I ran approximately 500 rounds through the rifle that day, and even with the harsh conditions, there were no malfunctions or signs of excessive wear. The dust, which typically gums up the works with other lubricants, seemed to have less of an impact on the Breakthrough Clean Battle Born HP Pro Lube and Protectant 2 oz Squeeze Bottle.
Ease of use was also a standout feature. The squeeze bottle allows for precise application, minimizing waste and mess. I did not experience any initial issues after using this product for the first time.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of consistent use across multiple firearms, including my 9mm pistol and 12-gauge shotgun, the Breakthrough Clean Battle Born HP Pro Lube and Protectant 2 oz Squeeze Bottle has proven to be incredibly reliable. Even after cleaning my weapons, I apply it to prevent rust.
The lubricant continues to perform well, even in humid conditions during early morning hunts. I’ve noticed reduced friction and smoother operation in all my firearms. There are minimal signs of wear and tear on treated surfaces.
Maintaining my firearms with Breakthrough Clean has been remarkably easy. A simple wipe-down is usually sufficient to remove any residue and reapply a fresh coat of lubricant. Compared to my previous experiences with other gun oils, the Battle Born HP Pro Lube significantly outperforms in both lubrication and corrosion protection, making cleaning quicker and more effective.
