ADCO BONUS PK DISP 96 SUP THUMB Review

The ADCO BONUS PK DISP 96 SUP THUMB Made a Bold First Impression

The ADCO BONUS PK DISP 96 SUP THUMB is, essentially, a polymer magazine designed for CZ 452, 453, 455, and 457 series rifles chambered in .22LR. At a price point of $5.99, it immediately grabs attention for its affordability, prompting a closer look at its functionality and reliability. My interest was piqued when needing reliable, inexpensive magazines for consistent training with my CZ 455.

Upon receiving the ADCO BONUS PK DISP 96 SUP THUMB, the lightweight polymer construction was immediately apparent. It didn’t feel flimsy, but it certainly didn’t have the heft of a steel magazine. My initial concern was whether this magazine would hold up under the rigors of regular range use and occasional field work.

Compared to some higher-end metal magazines for other rifles, the ADCO offering seemed basic, but functional. I had considered aftermarket steel magazines for my CZ, but the price difference was significant. The polymer construction won out for budgetary reasons, and the user reviews suggested it was worth a shot. My first impression was cautiously optimistic – a blend of anticipation and a slight reservation about long-term durability.

Real-World Testing: Putting ADCO BONUS PK DISP 96 SUP THUMB to the Test

First Use Experience

My initial testing of the ADCO BONUS PK DISP 96 SUP THUMB took place at my local outdoor shooting range. I ran several magazines worth of ammunition through my CZ 455, focusing on consistent loading and smooth feeding. The magazine performed flawlessly under sunny, dry conditions.

There were no issues with rounds hanging up or failing to feed properly into the chamber. The magazine inserted smoothly into the mag well and released without any snags. I was pleasantly surprised by the initial performance, especially given the low price point.

Extended Use & Reliability

After several months of consistent use, the ADCO BONUS PK DISP 96 SUP THUMB has held up remarkably well. While there are some minor scratches from repeated use, the polymer construction shows no signs of cracking or structural failure. I’ve used it in temperatures ranging from near freezing to above 90 degrees Fahrenheit, and it has consistently fed rounds without issue.

Cleaning is straightforward, involving simply wiping down the magazine with a cloth and applying a light coat of gun oil to the spring. I have noticed no degradation in spring tension or feeding reliability over time. Compared to some other magazines I own, the ADCO magazine has proven to be a reliable and cost-effective option for range training and plinking. It consistently outperforms some of the cheaper aftermarket options I’ve tried in the past.
