The GlenDel GrandStand 3D Target Stand Made a Bold First Impression
For years, I’ve struggled with setting up my 3D archery targets. Driving stakes into hard-packed ground, especially at the range, is a back-breaking chore. The GlenDel GrandStand 3D Target Stand, from GlenDel, promised a solution – a stable, portable platform that eliminates the need for stakes. I was eager to see if it lived up to the hype and could truly improve my archery practice sessions.
What pushed me towards the GlenDel GrandStand 3D Target Stand was simply convenience. My local range has notoriously compacted soil and I wanted something to hold my targets up on flat ground. Sick of wrestling with stubborn stakes, this looked like a more appropriate product.
Upon unboxing, I was immediately impressed by the stand’s robust construction. The powder-coated finish looked durable, and the overall design felt sturdy. It didn’t feel flimsy. The adjustable width feature seemed well-engineered.
I had considered other options, like building my own wooden stand. However, the portability and relatively low price of the GlenDel GrandStand 3D Target Stand made it the more appealing choice. It’s also easier to store. Another option I considered was a competitor’s stand that cost twice the amount.
My first impression was definitely positive. It looked like a well-made, practical solution to a common problem. It looked like it was made of stronger steel. I was excited to put it to the test and see if it would simplify my archery practice sessions.
Real-World Testing: Putting GlenDel GrandStand 3D Target Stand to the Test
First Use Experience
My first test of the GlenDel GrandStand 3D Target Stand was at my local outdoor archery range. The ground was dry and hard, exactly the type of conditions where I usually struggle with stakes. The setup was incredibly easy.
I simply adjusted the width to fit my 3D deer target, placed the target on the stand, and tightened the adjustment screws. It took less than a minute. The stand remained sturdy and stable even when I tested it with a high poundage bow.
The stand performed admirably, even with some moderate wind gusts. There was no wobbling or tipping. It stayed put even when I was shooting from 50 yards away. The absence of stakes made moving and repositioning the target a breeze.
My only initial surprise was how compact the stand folds down for transport. This makes it even more appealing for mobile archery setups. I was pleasantly surprised. No issues were found.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of use, the GlenDel GrandStand 3D Target Stand continues to perform exceptionally well. It has been exposed to rain, sun, and even a few accidental bumps, and it shows no signs of wear or rust. The powder coating is holding up perfectly.
I’ve used it with a variety of 3D targets. These include deer, bear, and even a smaller turkey target. The adjustable width accommodates them all with ease. I’ve also left it outside for a week, and it still looks new.
Maintenance is minimal. I simply wipe it down with a damp cloth after each use to remove any dirt or debris. No special cleaning is needed. So far, I’m impressed.
