The EZ-Aim “Mr. Squirrel” Splash Bullseye Paper Target 12″ x 12″ 12 Per Pack Made a Bold First Impression
As a seasoned outdoor and tactical gear specialist, I’ve seen countless targets come and go. I was intrigued when I stumbled upon the EZ-Aim “Mr. Squirrel” Splash Bullseye Paper Target 12″ x 12″ 12 Per Pack, primarily due to its promise of instant feedback and a playful design. Could this simple paper target actually enhance my training sessions and make practice more engaging?
My old shooting range targets were the usual drab affairs, barely registering hits without walking downrange. I needed something that offered instant feedback, allowing me to quickly adjust my aim and improve my groupings. Plus, let’s be honest, after years of staring at the same old circles, something with a little character sounded refreshing.
Unboxing the EZ-Aim targets, I immediately noticed the quality of the paper. It seemed thicker and more durable than standard targets. The vibrant colors and the, admittedly cartoonish, depiction of “Mr. Squirrel” were a welcome change. It wasn’t quite what I was expecting but I was amused.
Compared to standard bullseye targets, these definitely stood out. They weren’t as visually stimulating as some of the more expensive reactive steel targets I’ve used, but for paper, they were a decent upgrade. I picked these over plain bullseye paper targets and novelty zombie-themed targets, hoping for a good balance of functionality and fun.
My first impression was cautiously optimistic. I was eager to see how well the “splash” technology worked and whether it would truly improve my shooting experience. The playful design was a bonus, but the real test would be in the performance.
Real-World Testing: Putting EZ-Aim “Mr. Squirrel” Splash Bullseye Paper Target 12″ x 12″ 12 Per Pack to the Test
First Use Experience
My first test of the EZ-Aim “Mr. Squirrel” Splash Bullseye Paper Target 12″ x 12″ 12 Per Pack took place at my local shooting range, under a bright midday sun. I set up the targets at varying distances, from 15 yards for pistol practice to 50 yards for some rifle drills.
The targets performed admirably, even under slightly windy conditions. The “splash” effect was immediately noticeable, creating a bright white halo around each bullet hole, making it easy to see my impacts without the need for a spotting scope at closer ranges. It definitely improved performance.
The EZ-Aim targets were surprisingly easy to use. Simply staple them to a target backer and you’re good to go. There wasn’t any real need to read any instructions for proper use or application.
The only minor issue I encountered was that the splash effect was slightly less pronounced with smaller caliber rounds (.22LR), but still perfectly visible. I suspect that is expected due to lower impact levels of .22LR. Overall, I didn’t have any problems with their performance.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of regular use, the EZ-Aim “Mr. Squirrel” Splash Bullseye Paper Target 12″ x 12″ 12 Per Pack has proven to be a reliable and consistent training tool. The targets continue to provide clear and immediate feedback, even after repeated use.
The paper held up well, even after multiple shots in the same area. I did find that the paper backing could tear a bit with higher caliber rounds and close groupings, but that’s to be expected with paper targets. This would be common with any target material.
Maintenance is non-existent – they’re paper targets. Once they’re shot up, you replace them. Compared to my previous experience with standard paper targets, the EZ-Aim targets offer a significant improvement in terms of visual feedback and overall shooting experience.
