The CALD 8IN SIGHT IN TARGET 25 SHEETS Made a Bold First Impression
As an outdoor and tactical gear specialist with over a decade of experience, I’ve seen my fair share of targets. But the CALD 8IN SIGHT IN TARGET 25 SHEETS immediately caught my eye with its simplicity and promise of efficient zeroing. I’ve spent countless hours at the range, and a good target can make or break a productive session.
My previous target setup involved a hodgepodge of paper plates and repurposed cardboard – effective, but hardly professional or conducive to precise adjustments. I was seeking a standardized, reliable target that would streamline the sighting-in process for rifles and pistols. The CALD 8IN SIGHT IN TARGET 25 SHEETS, with its clear, concise design, seemed like the ideal solution.
Unboxing was straightforward – 25 sheets of target paper neatly packaged. The paper stock felt substantial, thicker than your average printer paper, suggesting decent durability. The clean, uncluttered design of the target itself was a welcome change from some of the overly busy, distracting targets I’ve encountered.
I considered a few alternatives before settling on the CALD 8IN SIGHT IN TARGET 25 SHEETS. There are larger format targets available, and some with more intricate scoring zones. Ultimately, I chose the CALD target for its compact size and focus on the essentials: a clear aiming point and easy-to-read scoring rings. I was cautiously optimistic. This target looked good, but the real test would be how it performed at the range.
Real-World Testing: Putting CALD 8IN SIGHT IN TARGET 25 SHEETS to the Test
First Use Experience
My first test of the CALD 8IN SIGHT IN TARGET 25 SHEETS was at my local outdoor range. It was a slightly overcast day with a mild breeze, perfect conditions for zeroing my new AR-15. I set up the target at 100 yards and prepared to put it through its paces.
The targets were simple to affix to my existing target stand using a few staples. The 8-inch size proved ideal; large enough to easily see the aiming point at 100 yards with a red dot sight, but not so large as to be unwieldy. After a few preliminary shots, it was clear that the high-contrast black-on-white design made it easy to discern bullet holes, even with less-than-perfect lighting. There were no initial problems or surprises.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several range sessions spanning a few months, I can confidently say the CALD 8IN SIGHT IN TARGET 25 SHEETS have held up remarkably well. The paper stock has proven to be resistant to tearing, even when subjected to multiple bullet impacts in close proximity. I have used them in light rain conditions, and the ink did not run excessively, maintaining target visibility.
Maintenance is non-existent, as expected with a disposable target. Comparing these targets to my previous improvised solutions is night and day. The CALD targets offer a consistent, reliable platform for accurate sighting and practice. No more guesswork or uneven surfaces.
