The Limbsaver AirTech Slip-On Recoil Pad Small-Medium Blac Made a Bold First Impression
The Limbsaver AirTech Slip-On Recoil Pad Small-Medium Blac promised a simple solution to a persistent problem that plagues many shooters: recoil. LimbSaver, a name synonymous with recoil reduction technology, claimed this slip-on pad could tame even the most punishing firearms. Its ease of use and potential for significant recoil reduction immediately piqued my interest.
Years of shouldering everything from lightweight shotguns during upland bird hunts to magnum rifles on elk expeditions have left me with a healthy respect for recoil. I sought a solution that was non-permanent and easily transferable between firearms without requiring gunsmithing. Unboxing the Limbsaver AirTech Slip-On Recoil Pad Small-Medium Blac, I was struck by its simple design and the familiar feel of the LimbSaver‘s proprietary NAVCOM material. The pad felt dense and pliable.
Compared to other slip-on recoil pads I’ve used in the past, primarily those made of hard rubber, the Limbsaver AirTech felt significantly more advanced. The older pads tended to be stiff and offered minimal recoil reduction. My initial thought was hope that this small seemingly innocuous pad would actually perform as advertised.
I was cautiously optimistic. The Limbsaver brand has a solid reputation, but slip-on recoil pads, in general, have left me wanting.
Real-World Testing: Putting **Limbsaver AirTech Slip-On Recoil Pad Small-Medium Blac** to the Test
First Use Experience
I first tested the Limbsaver AirTech Slip-On Recoil Pad Small-Medium Blac on a 12-gauge shotgun at my local shooting range. The shotgun, known for its stout recoil, provided an excellent platform to evaluate the pad’s effectiveness. The AirTech pad slipped on easily and securely, fitting snugly over the existing stock.
The difference was immediately noticeable. The felt recoil was significantly reduced, making the shotgun much more comfortable to shoot. After the first round of trap, I was impressed with the reduction and lack of movement.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of using the Limbsaver AirTech Slip-On Recoil Pad Small-Medium Blac on various firearms, including a .30-06 rifle, it has held up remarkably well. There are no signs of wear and tear on the pad itself.
Cleaning is simple. A quick wipe with a damp cloth removes any dirt or grime. Compared to previous recoil pads, the Limbsaver AirTech far exceeds expectations in terms of comfort and recoil reduction.
