Folding Tactical Buttstock with Pistol Grip Adjustable and Collapsible Compatible with Emperor Arms MPTAC12 12GA Review

The Folding Tactical Buttstock with Pistol Grip Adjustable and Collapsible Compatible with Emperor Arms MPTAC12 12GA Made a Bold First Impression

The Folding Tactical Buttstock with Pistol Grip Adjustable and Collapsible Compatible with Emperor Arms MPTAC12 12GA is a game-changer for anyone looking to enhance the versatility and handling of their Emperor Arms shotgun. This aftermarket buttstock replaces the factory stock, offering a folding mechanism, adjustable length-of-pull, and a pistol grip. These features promise improved ergonomics, maneuverability in tight spaces, and enhanced control.

I’ve always valued adaptability in my tactical gear. The standard stock on my MPTAC12 served its purpose, but I yearned for something more compact and adjustable, especially for home defense scenarios. Several folding stocks were available, but this model stood out because of its claimed compatibility with the MPTAC12 and its integrated pistol grip design, offering what looked to be a significant upgrade in handling.

The buttstock arrived in a simple, no-frills package. My initial impression was positive; the polymer felt robust and well-molded. The pistol grip had a comfortable texture. It felt substantial without being overly heavy.

Compared to some other aftermarket stocks I’ve handled, this one seemed to prioritize functionality over flashy aesthetics. I chose this model over others because of its reported direct compatibility with the MPTAC12. Also, I wanted a simple installation process, and its folding and adjustable features seemed very promising. I was cautiously optimistic. A well-made folding stock can transform a shotgun, but a poorly designed one can be a liability.

Real-World Testing: Putting Folding Tactical Buttstock with Pistol Grip Adjustable and Collapsible Compatible with Emperor Arms MPTAC12 12GA to the Test

First Use Experience

My first outing with the Folding Tactical Buttstock with Pistol Grip Adjustable and Collapsible Compatible with Emperor Arms MPTAC12 12GA was at my local shooting range. The range offered a mix of static targets and simulated tactical scenarios. I wanted to assess its performance under both controlled and dynamic conditions.

The first thing I noticed was the improved handling afforded by the pistol grip. The pistol grip provided a more secure and natural hold, especially during rapid firing drills. The adjustable length-of-pull allowed me to customize the fit to my body armor. I also found that the folding mechanism was smooth and reliable.

No initial issues arose. The buttstock locked securely in both the extended and folded positions. The recoil absorption felt adequate, although I knew that would be something to monitor over time.

Extended Use & Reliability

After several months of regular use, including multiple range sessions and a practical shotgun course, the Folding Tactical Buttstock with Pistol Grip Adjustable and Collapsible Compatible with Emperor Arms MPTAC12 12GA has proven its worth. It shows no signs of cracking or loosening. The polymer still feels as solid as it did on day one.

Minor scratches are visible, especially on the folding hinge. This is expected with regular use. Regular cleaning with a standard gun solvent is all that’s required to keep the stock in good condition.

Compared to my original MPTAC12 stock, the tactical buttstock offers a marked improvement in control and adaptability. While the factory stock was functional, this upgrade has significantly enhanced my shooting experience. It allows for faster target acquisition and more comfortable handling, especially in confined spaces.

Specifications

The Folding Tactical Buttstock with Pistol Grip Adjustable and Collapsible Compatible with Emperor Arms MPTAC12 12GA is constructed from durable polymer. This material offers a balance of strength and weight reduction. Its primary feature is, of course, its folding capability.

The buttstock includes an adjustable length-of-pull, allowing users to customize the fit. It also boasts an ergonomic pistol grip for enhanced control. A recoil-absorbing rubber butt pad is integrated into the design to mitigate the effects of 12-gauge recoil.

These specifications are important because they directly impact the shooter’s comfort, control, and maneuverability. The folding mechanism drastically reduces the overall length of the shotgun for storage or use in confined spaces.

Durability & Maintenance

The polymer construction should provide years of reliable service. The hinge mechanism appears to be well-made and durable. Regular cleaning and lubrication of the hinge will help to ensure its longevity.

Minimal maintenance is required. Any standard gun solvent can be used to clean the stock. Inspecting the hinge and locking mechanisms regularly is recommended.

Accessories and Customization Options

The Folding Tactical Buttstock with Pistol Grip Adjustable and Collapsible Compatible with Emperor Arms MPTAC12 12GA itself doesn’t include any additional accessories.
