Let’s Dive into Birchwood Casey Shoot-N-C White/Black 8 Inch Round Bullseye 6 Plus 72 Pasters 34802B

The Birchwood Casey Shoot-N-C White/Black 8 Inch Round Bullseye 6 Plus 72 Pasters 34802B offers a unique target solution for shooters seeking enhanced visibility and immediate feedback on their shot placement. Birchwood Casey has long been a trusted name in the shooting sports industry, known for producing quality targets and gun care products. This particular target aims to improve the shooting experience, especially in less-than-ideal lighting conditions.

As an experienced outdoor and tactical gear specialist, I’ve spent countless hours at the range, zeroing optics, and honing my shooting skills. Black-on-brown paper targets are the norm, but my aging eyes and the less-than-stellar lighting at my local indoor range were becoming a significant hindrance. I needed a target that offered better contrast and immediate feedback, without needing to walk downrange after every shot.

Upon receiving the Birchwood Casey Shoot-N-C White/Black 8 Inch Round Bullseye, I immediately noticed the quality of the paper and the contrast between the white bullseye and black background. The adhesive backing felt strong, ensuring it would stick firmly to my target stand. The included pasters were a welcome bonus, promising to extend the life of the target and provide a cleaner, more consistent aiming point.

I’ve used standard paper targets and reactive targets with bright-colored halos in the past. Those reactive targets were alright, but the bright colors could be distracting and the splatter pattern wasn’t always clear. The Birchwood Casey target promised a clearer visual of shot placement and better contrast, and that was the deciding factor for me.

My initial impression was one of cautious optimism. The target looked good, but the proof would be in its performance at the range. I was eager to see if it lived up to its promises of improved visibility and instant feedback.

Real-World Testing: Putting Birchwood Casey Shoot-N-C White/Black 8 Inch Round Bullseye 6 Plus 72 Pasters 34802B to the Test

First Use Experience

My first opportunity to test the Birchwood Casey Shoot-N-C White/Black 8 Inch Round Bullseye was at my local indoor range. The range, as mentioned previously, suffers from less than optimal lighting, a challenge that these targets were specifically designed to overcome. I used them while zeroing a new red dot optic on my AR-15 at 25 yards.

The difference in visibility was immediately noticeable. Even with the range’s dim lighting, the white bullseye stood out clearly against the black background. Shot placement was easy to identify, thanks to the contrasting ring created by the impact.

I experienced no issues during my initial use. The targets adhered well to the cardboard backing, and the pasters were easy to apply. The contrast remained consistent, even after multiple shots.

Extended Use & Reliability

After several weeks of regular use, the Birchwood Casey Shoot-N-C White/Black 8 Inch Round Bullseye continues to perform admirably. The adhesive backing has held strong, even in varying temperatures and humidity levels. There have been no issues with the targets peeling or tearing prematurely.

The targets show wear and tear as expected, with bullet holes accumulating over time. The pasters, however, have proven invaluable in extending the life of each target. They allow me to quickly cover up existing holes and maintain a clear aiming point.

Compared to the standard brown paper targets I used previously, the Birchwood Casey Shoot-N-C White/Black 8 Inch Round Bullseye is a significant improvement. The increased visibility and instant feedback have allowed me to diagnose and correct issues with my shooting technique more efficiently. It certainly helps to zero optics more quickly than with traditional dark targets.
