As someone deeply entrenched in the tactical and outdoor gear world, I’m always on the lookout for upgrades that enhance performance and reliability. That’s what led me to the Trijicon Suppressor/Optic Height For Glock 42/43/43x/48 Sight Set Black/Tritium. This isn’t just another set of sights; it’s a precision-engineered upgrade designed to elevate the capabilities of some of Glock’s most popular compact pistols.
I was searching for a sight solution that would provide a clear sight picture when using a suppressor, while also offering enhanced visibility in low-light conditions. After hearing positive feedback from fellow enthusiasts and seeing the Trijicon reputation firsthand, I decided to give this set a try. My initial thoughts upon receiving the sights were dominated by a sense of quality; the construction felt robust, and the tritium inserts glowed with a reassuring intensity.
Compared to standard Glock sights and aftermarket options like Ameriglo’s Spartan Tactical sights, the Trijicon offering stood out with its distinct height and focus on optimized visibility with suppressors. I chose the Trijicon sights because of the brand’s track record and the specific need to clear a suppressor without sacrificing accuracy or low-light performance. My first impression was one of excited anticipation; could these sights truly live up to the hype and transform my Glock 43X into an even more capable platform?
Real-World Testing: Putting Trijicon Suppressor/Optic Height For Glock 42/43/43x/48 Sight Set Black/Tritium to the Test
First Use Experience
My initial testing took place at an outdoor shooting range under varied lighting conditions. I mounted the sights on my Glock 43X and spent an afternoon running drills. The first thing I noticed was how quickly I could acquire the sight picture, even with a suppressor attached.
The height of the sights proved ideal for clearing the suppressor, while the tritium inserts provided excellent visibility as the sun began to set. There was a slight learning curve in adjusting to the increased height, but after a few magazines, it became second nature. One minor issue I encountered initially was ensuring the sights were perfectly aligned during installation, as even a small deviation could significantly impact accuracy.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of consistent use, the Trijicon Suppressor/Optic Height For Glock 42/43/43x/48 Sight Set Black/Tritium has proven to be remarkably durable. Despite regular range trips and exposure to varying weather conditions, the sights show minimal signs of wear and tear. Cleaning is straightforward, requiring only a quick wipe-down with a non-abrasive cloth and solvent.
Compared to other aftermarket sights I’ve used, the Trijicon set maintains its brightness and clarity exceptionally well. The enhanced visibility and suppressor compatibility far exceed the performance of the factory Glock sights. The only maintenance consideration is the inherent lifespan of tritium, which will eventually diminish, though Trijicon warrants the green lamps for 12 years.
