The Night Fision GLK001007OGZ OEM Replacement Perfect Dot Night Sight Set Square Tritium Green with Orange Outline Front, Green with Made a Bold First Impression
The Night Fision GLK001007OGZ OEM Replacement Perfect Dot Night Sight Set Square Tritium Green with Orange Outline Front, Green with is a sight upgrade designed to enhance target acquisition in low-light conditions for a wide array of Glock pistols. Night Fision promises increased daytime visibility and superior nighttime performance through its Perfect Dot technology. I’ve always believed that reliable sights are paramount for accurate shooting and rapid target engagement, especially in dynamic and challenging environments.
For years, I’ve run stock Glock sights, finding them…adequate. But “adequate” isn’t good enough when lives might depend on clear and instant target acquisition. I needed a sight set that offered a distinct advantage in low light, while maintaining excellent visibility in daylight.
Upon unboxing the Night Fision set, I was immediately impressed by the robust construction and the vibrant colors of the sight outlines. The square front sight with the orange outline and the U-notch rear sight with green tritium elements created a visually striking combination. The materials felt solid and well-made, suggesting a durable and long-lasting product.
Compared to Trijicon HD sights (which I considered) and Ameriglo GL-429s (which I’ve used on another Glock), the Night Fision set appeared to offer a similar level of brightness and visibility, but with a more aggressive daytime color contrast. I chose the Night Fision because I liked the square front sight post over the rounded one I was using previously. This gives me a crisp visual cue for alignment and accuracy. My initial excitement stemmed from the promise of improved speed and precision in varied lighting conditions.
Real-World Testing: Putting Night Fision GLK001007OGZ OEM Replacement Perfect Dot Night Sight Set Square Tritium Green with Orange Outline Front, Green with to the Test
First Use Experience
I installed the Night Fision sights on my Glock 19 and immediately headed to my local indoor range for a session. The first thing I noticed was the ease of target acquisition in both bright and low-light settings. The vibrant orange outline on the front sight jumped out, allowing for quick and intuitive sight alignment.
The low-light performance was stellar. The tritium vials glowed brightly, providing a clear and distinct sight picture without being overpowering. I found the square front sight post particularly beneficial for precise aiming compared to my factory sight. There were no immediate issues, and I was genuinely pleased with the initial performance.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of consistent use, including weekly range trips and a practical pistol course, the Night Fision sights have held up remarkably well. There are no visible signs of wear and tear on the tritium vials or the polymer outlines. Cleaning is straightforward – a quick wipe with a gun cleaning cloth is all that’s needed.
The sights have proven to be exceptionally durable, withstanding the daily wear and tear of concealed carry and frequent range sessions. Compared to my experience with other aftermarket sights, which often exhibit fading or chipping of the paint, the Night Fision sights appear to be significantly more resilient. They offer a superior combination of daytime visibility and nighttime accuracy.
