The Night Fision Perfect Dot for Glock 42, 43, 43X Fixed Square Green/Orange/Black Tritium Handgun Sights Made a Bold First Impression
As a seasoned tactical gear specialist, I’ve seen countless handgun sight upgrades promising improved visibility and accuracy. However, the Night Fision Perfect Dot for Glock 42, 43, 43X Fixed Square Green/Orange/Black Tritium Handgun Sights caught my eye with its promise of enhanced daytime visibility thanks to its durable polymer tritium outlines and the renowned brightness of tritium in low-light conditions. I was searching for a sight system that could bridge the gap between daylight precision and nighttime confidence, something that wouldn’t wash out under stress or fail when I needed it most.
My aging eyes were starting to struggle with the factory Glock sights on my EDC Glock 43X. The black-on-black sights, while perfectly functional when new, lacked contrast and became difficult to acquire quickly in varied lighting conditions. After researching numerous options, including fiber optic sights and other tritium-based systems, I chose the Night Fision Perfect Dot due to its reputation for durability, brightness, and the vibrant orange outline around the front sight.
Upon unboxing, I was immediately impressed by the robust construction of the sights. The steel felt solid, and the tritium vials glowed noticeably, even in a well-lit room. The orange outline around the front sight was incredibly vibrant, promising excellent daytime visibility. Compared to the factory Glock sights, the Night Fision set felt like a significant upgrade in both quality and design.
I had considered Trijicon HD sights and Ameriglo Bolds before ultimately deciding on the Night Fision Perfect Dot. While both are reputable options, the Night Fision sights seemed to offer a slightly brighter tritium vial and a more visible daytime outline at a more appealing price point. My initial excitement was high; these sights seemed poised to deliver on their promise of superior visibility and performance.
- ## Real-World Testing: Putting Night Fision Perfect Dot for Glock 42, 43, 43X Fixed Square Green/Orange/Black Tritium Handgun Sights to the Test
### First Use Experience
I installed the Night Fision Perfect Dot sights on my Glock 43X and headed to my local outdoor range for testing. My first session involved a variety of drills, including rapid target acquisition, controlled pairs, and accuracy tests at distances ranging from 7 to 25 yards. The difference compared to my factory sights was immediately noticeable.
The bright orange outline on the front sight instantly drew my eye, making target acquisition significantly faster and easier, even under the harsh midday sun. The square notch rear sight provided a crisp and clear sight picture, enhancing precision. I also tested the sights in a dimly lit indoor range to evaluate the tritium performance, and they glowed intensely, offering a clear aiming point. There were no immediate issues, and the sights performed exactly as advertised.
### Extended Use & ReliabilityAfter several months of consistent use, including weekly range sessions and carrying my Glock 43X daily, the Night Fision Perfect Dot sights have held up remarkably well. There is no noticeable wear and tear on the steel housings, and the tritium vials remain bright and vibrant. Cleaning is a breeze; a simple wipe down with a cloth keeps them in pristine condition.
Compared to my previous experiences with other aftermarket sights, the Night Fision set has exceeded my expectations in terms of durability and performance. I’ve found that the orange outline has not faded and the tritium remains consistently bright, even after prolonged exposure to sunlight and cleaning solvents. This is a significant improvement over some of the fiber optic sights I’ve used in the past, which were prone to damage and fading.
