I was struggling with target visibility, especially with darker paper targets at varying distances. My aging eyes needed a distinct aiming point that wouldn’t blend into the background, and traditional black bullseyes just weren’t cutting it. I needed a solution that was affordable, easy to use, and reliably visible.
The Birchwood Casey Target Spots 1 Inch come neatly packaged with ten sheets of 36 dots each. The fluorescent red color immediately grabs your attention, and the adhesive backing seems sturdy. My initial impression was that these were a significant step up from generic target stickers I’d used in the past.
Compared to basic paper targets with printed bullseyes or generic black target stickers, the Birchwood Casey spots offer superior visibility. I also considered Shoot-N-C targets, but found them to be considerably more expensive for casual range sessions. Ultimately, the price and ease of use made the Birchwood Casey Target Spots 1 Inch the most appealing option.
I was excited to try them out and see if they lived up to the promise of improved accuracy. The vibrant color and self-adhesive design gave me confidence that these simple dots would make a noticeable difference in my shooting sessions. I was ready to put them to the test.

First Use Experience
I tested the Birchwood Casey Target Spots 1 Inch at my local indoor shooting range. I used them on standard cardboard targets at distances ranging from 10 to 25 yards, firing both pistols and rifles. The range was well-lit, but the targets still benefited from the added contrast of the bright red dots.
The Birchwood Casey Target Spots 1 Inch performed exceptionally well under these controlled conditions. The fluorescent red color was highly visible, making it easy to acquire a clear sight picture. Applying the dots was also simple and quick.
The adhesive backing held firm, even after repeated impacts from .22LR, 9mm, and .223 rounds. I did not need time to get used to these; I just applied them and was ready to go. There were no issues or surprises during this first session.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of regular use, the Birchwood Casey Target Spots 1 Inch have proven to be a reliable and worthwhile addition to my range kit. They hold up incredibly well, even when subjected to damp conditions or being stored in a range bag. I’ve used roughly half the pack, and they are still as vibrant as when they were new.
The adhesive has remained strong, with no signs of peeling or curling, even on targets that have been exposed to sunlight. The targets themselves may degrade over time, but these spots last a really long time. Cleaning is not required; when the target is too damaged, I just replace it with a fresh one.
The Birchwood Casey Target Spots 1 Inch significantly outperform cheaper, generic target stickers I’ve used in the past. Those alternatives would often fade in color and lose their adhesive properties quickly. Birchwood Casey delivers a consistent and reliable product that makes shooting more enjoyable and productive.
