Champion Traps and Targets DuraSeal Single 7 in Spinner Targets Review

Let’s Dive into Champion Traps and Targets DuraSeal Single 7 in Spinner Targets

Having spent over a decade immersed in the world of outdoor and tactical gear, I’ve come to appreciate the simple joys of a well-designed target. That’s why the Champion Traps and Targets DuraSeal Single 7 in Spinner Targets immediately caught my eye. It promises durability, ease of use, and engaging shooting practice, all at a reasonable price from a trusted manufacturer.

For years, I’ve been searching for a target system that offers both immediate feedback and long-term resilience. Frustration with paper targets that require constant replacement and metal targets that dent easily led me to explore self-sealing options. The Champion DuraSeal line has a solid reputation, and the 7-inch spinner seemed like the perfect balance of size and portability.

Upon unboxing, my first impression was positive; the target felt surprisingly lightweight yet robust, thanks to its self-sealing DuraSeal construction. The bright orange color is incredibly visible, even in less-than-ideal lighting conditions. Compared to a traditional steel spinner I own, this one is significantly lighter, making it much easier to transport and set up.

I considered other options like the Birchwood Casey World of Targets Rimfire Resetting Target, but I was drawn to the single, larger target face of the Champion Spinner. Also, I have a smaller 5 inch spinner that is hard to see past 50 yards, and this one is noticeably larger. My initial excitement stemmed from the promise of a target that could withstand countless rounds while providing instant visual feedback, eliminating the need to constantly walk downrange.

Real-World Testing: Putting Champion Traps and Targets DuraSeal Single 7 in Spinner Targets to the Test

First Use Experience

My initial testing of the Champion Traps and Targets DuraSeal Single 7 in Spinner Targets took place at my local outdoor shooting range, under clear but slightly breezy conditions. I set it up at distances ranging from 25 to 100 yards, using a variety of rimfire and pistol calibers. The target performed admirably, spinning and wobbling noticeably upon each impact, making it easy to confirm hits even at longer ranges.

The ease of use was immediately apparent; no assembly was required, and the target was ready to go straight out of the box. Even with a moderate crosswind, the DuraSeal material held its ground, and the bright color ensured excellent visibility. After the first few magazines, I was impressed by its ability to withstand repeated impacts without showing significant damage, and there were no surprises, only satisfaction.

Extended Use & Reliability

After several weeks of consistent use, the Champion Traps and Targets DuraSeal Single 7 in Spinner Targets has proven to be a reliable and durable addition to my range setup. While some minor surface wear is visible, the target continues to spin freely and maintain its shape, even after hundreds of rounds. Cleaning is a breeze; simply wipe down the surface with a damp cloth to remove any residue.

Compared to my previous experiences with metal targets, which often required repainting or even welding after extended use, the DuraSeal spinner has been a welcome improvement. It has exceeded my expectations in terms of longevity and low maintenance, making it a worthwhile investment for regular shooters.
