Let’s Talk About Holosun HE507COMP Open Reflex Optical Sight, 2 MOA – 1 out of 2 models
The Holosun HE507COMP Open Reflex Optical Sight, 2 MOA – 1 out of 2 models is a competition-ready optic designed for shooters who demand speed and precision. Manufactured by Holosun, this sight boasts an enlarged window for enhanced field of view and a versatile Competition Reticle System (CRS). It is the ideal choice for competitive shooting, target practice, and even some tactical applications.
My search for a new optic stemmed from a growing frustration with my aging red dot. I needed something with a larger window and more reticle options to improve my target acquisition speed during fast-paced drills. The Holosun HE507COMP appeared to be the perfect solution.
Upon unboxing the Holosun HE507COMP, I was immediately impressed by its robust construction and sleek design. The aluminum housing felt incredibly durable, and the weight was surprisingly manageable. This optic felt substantial without being overly bulky.
Compared to my old Trijicon RMR and a Sig Sauer Romeo5, the Holosun HE507COMP stood out due to its larger window and multiple reticle choices. While the RMR is renowned for its ruggedness, the HE507COMP offered a wider field of view. The Romeo5, a budget-friendly option, couldn’t match the clarity and features of the Holosun.
My first impression was overwhelmingly positive. I was excited to mount it on my competition pistol and see how it performed under pressure. The promise of faster target acquisition and greater precision was certainly enticing.

I first tested the Holosun HE507COMP at my local shooting range during a competitive pistol match. The match involved a variety of stages, including close-quarters engagements and longer-range precision shots. These stages allowed me to evaluate the optic in diverse scenarios.
The HE507COMP performed admirably in varying lighting conditions. From bright sunlight to overcast skies, the reticle remained clear and crisp. I didn’t have the opportunity to test it in extreme wet conditions, but a light drizzle didn’t affect performance.
The Holosun HE507COMP was surprisingly easy to use straight out of the box. After a quick zeroing session, I was hitting targets with ease. The large window and intuitive reticle system made target acquisition remarkably fast.
The only minor issue I encountered during my first use was adjusting to the different reticle options. It took a few magazines to find the one that suited my shooting style best. However, this was a minor adjustment, and the flexibility was appreciated.

After several months of consistent use, the Holosun HE507COMP continues to impress. It has become my go-to optic for competitive shooting and training. The optic has maintained its zero flawlessly.
The HE507COMP has proven to be remarkably durable. Despite the occasional bump and scrape, the aluminum housing shows minimal signs of wear and tear. The lens remains clear, and the buttons still feel responsive.
