Huskemaw Optics Tactical Rifle Scope 5-20x50mm HuntSmart Reticle Review

The Huskemaw Optics Tactical Rifle Scope 5-20x50mm HuntSmart Reticle Made a Bold First Impression

The Huskemaw Optics Tactical Rifle Scope 5-20x50mm HuntSmart Reticle isn’t just another piece of glass; it promises a blend of tactical precision and hunting practicality. It’s designed for the serious shooter who demands clarity, accuracy, and rugged reliability in any environment. Huskemaw has built a reputation on ballistic precision and ruggedness, and this scope seemed to deliver on that promise right out of the box.

For years, I struggled with scopes that couldn’t hold zero after a hard day’s hunt, or whose reticles became useless in low light. I needed a scope that could handle the rigors of backcountry hunting and provide the accuracy required for longer-range engagements. This scope, with its TrueBC technology and illuminated reticle, looked like it might be the answer.

Unboxing the Huskemaw, the first thing I noticed was its substantial feel. The 34mm tube felt solid and the adjustments were crisp and deliberate, instilling confidence in its build quality. Compared to my aging Leupold VX-3i and a more budget-friendly Vortex Diamondback Tactical, the Huskemaw immediately impressed with its superior glass quality and more refined turret system. I ultimately chose the Huskemaw for its combination of ballistic compensation features, clarity of glass, and its reputation for holding zero, something I had struggled with in the past.

My initial impression was excitement mixed with a healthy dose of anticipation. It felt like a premium optic, designed for serious use, and I was eager to see how it would perform in the field.

Real-World Testing: Putting Huskemaw Optics Tactical Rifle Scope 5-20x50mm HuntSmart Reticle to the Test

First Use Experience

My initial testing grounds for the Huskemaw Optics Tactical Rifle Scope 5-20x50mm HuntSmart Reticle was my local shooting range. I wanted to see how easy it was to zero, test the clarity of the glass at various magnifications, and familiarize myself with the HuntSmart reticle. The weather was cooperative, offering clear skies and mild temperatures, ideal for sighting in.

The scope proved easy to zero, with the .333 MOA clicks providing precise adjustments. The glass was exceptionally clear, even at 20x magnification, and the illuminated reticle provided excellent visibility in bright daylight. After about an hour of shooting, I was consistently hitting targets at 300 yards with ease.

There were no major issues during the first outing, though I did find the parallax adjustment knob a bit stiff initially. However, it loosened up after a few adjustments.

Extended Use & Reliability

After several months of use, the Huskemaw Optics Tactical Rifle Scope 5-20x50mm HuntSmart Reticle has proven itself to be a reliable and durable optic. I’ve taken it on multiple hunting trips in varying conditions, from dry and dusty plains to damp and foggy mountain ranges. It has consistently held zero, even after being subjected to rough handling in the field.

There are some very minor scratches on the finish, but nothing that affects its performance. Cleaning is relatively straightforward, requiring only a lens cloth and occasional wipe down of the tube. Compared to some of my previous scopes, the Huskemaw has outperformed them in terms of clarity, accuracy, and overall durability.
