Let’s Dive into Coleman Kickback Breeze Chair
The Coleman Kickback Breeze Chair promises simple relaxation in a portable package. Manufactured by Coleman, this chair aims to provide a comfortable, low-to-the-ground seating option for outdoor enthusiasts. Its key feature is the mesh back, designed to keep you cool on hot days, combined with a lightweight design for easy transport.
I was looking for a lightweight and easily portable chair for casual camping and fishing trips. Existing chairs were bulky and cumbersome, making them inconvenient for short hikes to my favorite spots. The promise of a light, breezy chair that could be easily stowed was immediately appealing.
Upon unboxing, the Coleman Kickback Breeze Chair felt surprisingly light. The mesh back seemed well-ventilated, and the overall build quality appeared decent for the price. The carry bag was a welcome addition, suggesting ease of transport.
Compared to other low-profile chairs like the ALPS Mountaineering Low Rocker or the REI Co-op Camp Stowaway Low Chair, the Coleman Kickback Breeze Chair stood out due to its simplicity and price point. While the ALPS offered a rocking feature and the REI chair boasted more robust construction, the Coleman seemed like a good balance of portability and affordability. I hoped it would live up to its promise of being a convenient and comfortable option for casual outdoor use.
My first impression was cautiously optimistic. The chair appeared well-suited for its intended purpose, but the real test would be its performance in the field. I was eager to see how it would hold up to extended use and varied weather conditions.
Real-World Testing: Putting Coleman Kickback Breeze Chair to the Test
First Use Experience
I first tested the Coleman Kickback Breeze Chair on a weekend fishing trip to a local lake. I set it up on the grassy bank and spent several hours sitting in it while waiting for a bite. The low-to-the-ground design allowed me to stretch my legs out comfortably, and the mesh back provided noticeable ventilation on a warm afternoon.
The chair performed well in dry conditions. The fabric seat was comfortable enough for extended periods, and the lightweight frame felt surprisingly stable. However, I did notice that the low seat height made it slightly challenging to get in and out of, especially on uneven terrain.
The chair was easy to set up and take down, requiring no assembly. The included carry bag made transport simple. I encountered no immediate issues, although I wondered about its long-term durability.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of use on various camping and fishing trips, the Coleman Kickback Breeze Chair has held up reasonably well. There are no significant signs of wear and tear, although some minor fraying of the fabric around the edges is starting to appear. The frame remains sturdy and shows no signs of bending or breaking.
The chair is relatively easy to clean. Dirt and mud can be wiped off with a damp cloth. However, the mesh back tends to trap small debris, which requires a bit more effort to remove.
Compared to my previous experiences with similarly priced chairs, the Coleman Kickback Breeze Chair offers a good balance of comfort, portability, and durability. It’s not the most robust option on the market, but it’s certainly adequate for casual use. It outperforms some cheaper alternatives in terms of comfort and stability but falls short of more expensive, heavy-duty chairs.
