Let’s Dive into HHA Sports 5000 Optimizer Lite Bow Sight 1 5/8″ Diameter .019″ Pin
The HHA Sports 5000 Optimizer Lite Bow Sight 1 5/8″ Diameter .019″ Pin is a single-pin adjustable bow sight designed for archers who value precision and ease of use. HHA Sports has built a reputation for crafting durable and accurate sights, and this model is no exception. It features a CNC machined aluminum construction, a bright fiber optic pin, and tool-free micro-adjustments.
I’ve struggled with multi-pin sights for years due to my vision. The clutter of multiple pins made it difficult to focus on the target, often leading to inaccurate shots and frustration. I needed a single-pin sight that would allow me to range my target and have a clear, unobstructed view.
The sight arrived in a sturdy package, well-protected. My first impression was that it felt incredibly solid and well-made. The aluminum was smooth, and the adjustments were precise and easy to manipulate.
I considered the Spot Hogg Fast Eddie XL and the Axcel Armortech Pro HD, both excellent sights. However, the HHA stood out because of its straightforward design and reputation for ruggedness. Plus, I liked the idea of the R.D.S. (Range. Dial. Shoot.) technology for quick yardage adjustments. I was excited to mount it and hit the range!
Real-World Testing: Putting HHA Sports 5000 Optimizer Lite Bow Sight 1 5/8″ Diameter .019″ Pin to the Test
First Use Experience
My initial testing ground was the local archery range, a controlled environment perfect for sighting in. I tested it in both sunny and slightly overcast conditions. The sight proved easy to set up, and the yardage tape was simple to apply once I determined my arrow speed.
The single .019″ pin was incredibly bright and easy to see, even in lower light conditions. Adjusting the yardage was smooth and precise using the yardage dial. I had no issues with slippage or unwanted movement during the shot.
I was initially concerned about how long it would take to adjust the sight for different distances, but the HHA’s R.D.S. system made it quick and painless. There were no hiccups or surprises; the sight performed exactly as advertised.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of consistent use, the HHA Sports 5000 Optimizer Lite Bow Sight 1 5/8″ Diameter .019″ Pin continues to impress. It has held its zero perfectly, even after being bumped around in my bow case. I have confidence in its ability to withstand the rigors of hunting season.
The sight shows no signs of wear and tear. The aluminum finish has proven to be scratch-resistant, and the fiber optic pin remains bright and vibrant. I periodically clean the lens with a microfiber cloth to ensure optimal clarity.
Compared to my previous multi-pin sight, the HHA is a game-changer. My accuracy has improved significantly, and I feel more confident taking shots at longer distances. The single pin allows me to focus on the target without distractions, which has been invaluable for my vision.
