What Makes Leupold DeltaPoint Pro Dovetail Mount, SW MP CORE, – 1 out of 13 models Stand Out?
The Leupold DeltaPoint Pro Dovetail Mount, SW MP CORE, – 1 out of 13 models is a crucial piece of hardware for shooters looking to enhance their Smith & Wesson M&P CORE pistols with a red dot optic. Specifically designed to interface the popular Leupold DeltaPoint Pro with the M&P CORE’s factory dovetail, this mount provides a stable and reliable platform for optic attachment. With its machined steel construction and included mounting hardware, it promises a secure and straightforward installation.
My journey to this mount began with a desire to upgrade my S&W M&P CORE for faster target acquisition in both training and practical shooting scenarios. I wanted to maintain the pistol’s original slide without the expense of having it milled for a direct red dot mount. The dovetail mount seemed like the perfect balance of convenience and performance.
Upon receiving the mount, I was immediately impressed with its solid feel and clean machining. The black finish matched my M&P CORE slide perfectly. It felt substantial in my hand, inspiring confidence in its ability to withstand the rigors of regular use. This contrasts sharply with some of the cheaper aluminum mounts I’ve encountered, which often feel flimsy and prone to stripping.
Compared to other dovetail mounts on the market, such as those offered by Trijicon or EGW, the Leupold option seemed to offer a slightly lower profile and a more integrated look with the DeltaPoint Pro. I also considered a universal picatinny adapter, but I wanted a more purpose-built solution for the DeltaPoint Pro.
My initial excitement was high. This Leupold DeltaPoint Pro Dovetail Mount, SW MP CORE, – 1 out of 13 models seemed to be exactly what I needed to quickly and easily upgrade my pistol for improved performance. I couldn’t wait to get it installed and head to the range.

During my initial shooting session, the mount felt incredibly solid. There was no noticeable movement or shifting of the DeltaPoint Pro optic, even after firing several hundred rounds. The mount maintained a consistent zero throughout the session.
The higher sight picture took a few magazines to get used to. However, after that initial adjustment, my target acquisition speed improved dramatically compared to the iron sights. I experienced no malfunctions related to the mount or optic.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of regular use, the Leupold DeltaPoint Pro Dovetail Mount, SW MP CORE, – 1 out of 13 models has proven to be remarkably durable. The mount shows no signs of wear or loosening despite consistent use.
I’ve put it through several hundred rounds per range session. The recoil of the 9mm hasn’t caused any problems. I’ve also tested it in less-than-ideal conditions, including a few dusty outdoor ranges and during a light rain.
Cleaning is straightforward; a quick wipe-down with a lightly oiled cloth is all that’s needed. I’ve had zero issues with corrosion or rust.
Compared to some cheaper mounts I’ve used in the past that required constant tightening, the Leupold DeltaPoint Pro Dovetail Mount, SW MP CORE, – 1 out of 13 models has been a significant improvement. It gives me peace of mind knowing my optic is securely mounted and will maintain its zero.
