First Use Experience
I tested the Leupold DeltaPoint Pro Dovetail Mount, CZ 75 Matte – 1 out of 13 models at my local outdoor shooting range. I specifically focused on drills that involved rapid target acquisition and transitions. The weather was slightly overcast, providing less than ideal lighting conditions, which is precisely where a red dot sight shines.
The mount proved instrumental in improving my target acquisition speed under the less-than-ideal lighting conditions. The DeltaPoint Pro sat securely on the mount, offering a clear and consistent sight picture. The dovetail mount system felt very secure.
The installation was straightforward, requiring only a punch and a hammer to drift out the rear sight and install the mount. I did need to make minor adjustments to the DeltaPoint Pro‘s zero, but that was expected. The mount itself required no special tools or modifications to the firearm.
There were no initial issues, and the mount felt incredibly solid during firing. The DeltaPoint Pro remained firmly in place, even after several magazines worth of ammunition. The enhanced sight picture improved my shooting speed and accuracy.

Cleaning and maintaining the mount is incredibly simple. A quick wipe-down with a lightly oiled cloth after each range session is all that’s needed to keep it in top condition. The matte finish resists fingerprints and smudges, making maintenance hassle-free.
Compared to previous attempts at mounting optics on handguns, this mount has been a resounding success. It provides a far more stable and reliable platform than universal mounts I’ve used in the past. It greatly outperforms those that required more extensive modifications.
