Wiley X Vapor Safety Sunglasses, 2 Lens Package, 1 – 1 out of 5 models Review

What Makes Wiley X Vapor Safety Sunglasses, 2 Lens Package, 1 – 1 out of 5 models Stand Out?

The Wiley X Vapor Safety Sunglasses, 2 Lens Package, 1 – 1 out of 5 models offers a unique blend of ballistic-grade protection and adaptable optics. These sunglasses aren’t just about shielding your eyes from the sun; they’re built to withstand high-impact scenarios while providing clear vision in varying light conditions, thanks to the included interchangeable lenses. With Wiley X‘s reputation for quality and durability, these sunglasses promise to be a reliable companion for anyone working or playing in demanding environments.

My search for these sunglasses stemmed from a need for reliable eye protection at the shooting range and while engaging in outdoor activities like hiking and fishing. I needed something that could handle the impact of stray projectiles, provide UV protection, and adapt to different lighting conditions. The interchangeable lens system and the promise of ballistic protection made the Wiley X Vapor an intriguing option.

Upon unboxing, the Wiley X Vapor felt surprisingly lightweight yet sturdy. The matte black frame had a no-nonsense, tactical feel, and the lenses snapped in and out with reassuring clicks. The included case, strap, and cleaning cloth were welcome additions, signaling attention to detail.

I was also considering the Oakley SI Ballistic M Frame 2.0 and the ESS Crossblade. However, the Wiley X Vapor seemed to offer a better balance of features for the price, especially with the included RX insert compatibility. The ESS Crossblade felt a little too specialized for tactical use only, while the Oakley option seemed expensive for similar features.

My first impression was one of cautious optimism. The sunglasses felt well-built and comfortable, but the real test would be how they performed under real-world conditions. I was excited to test the lens changing system and the clarity of vision in different environments.

Real-World Testing: Putting Wiley X Vapor Safety Sunglasses, 2 Lens Package, 1 – 1 out of 5 models to the Test

First Use Experience

I first tested the Wiley X Vapor Safety Sunglasses at an outdoor shooting range. The smoke grey lenses proved invaluable in reducing glare from the bright sunlight, allowing me to focus on the targets without straining my eyes. The sunglasses fit comfortably under my earmuffs, and I experienced no slippage during rapid movements.

During an afternoon hike, I encountered a sudden downpour. The Wiley X Vapor Safety Sunglasses provided adequate protection from the rain, and the Foil Lens Coating did a decent job of preventing fogging. However, in the humid conditions, I noticed some slight fogging during intense exertion.

The lens changing process was straightforward, and I quickly swapped to the clear lenses for an indoor shooting session. The clear lenses provided excellent clarity and protection from ricocheting brass, and I felt confident in their ability to withstand impacts. The Wiley X Vapor Safety Sunglasses proved to be very versatile across different environments.

Extended Use & Reliability

After several months of use, the Wiley X Vapor Safety Sunglasses have held up remarkably well. The frame shows no signs of stress or cracking, and the lenses remain scratch-free, thanks to the T-Shell lens coating. The lenses maintain their clarity and haven’t warped or discolored.

Despite regular use, the Wiley X Vapor Safety Sunglasses haven’t required any repairs or significant maintenance. A simple wipe with the included cleaning cloth keeps the lenses clear and the frame clean. The nosepiece and temple arms have retained their shape and grip.

These sunglasses have significantly outperformed my previous safety glasses in terms of comfort, clarity, and durability. The Wiley X Vapor Safety Sunglasses are a definite upgrade from my older, less versatile models. The level of protection these sunglasses offer in terms of resistance to impacts cannot be overstated.
