The Galco E-Z Loader Carrier For System, Charter Arms – 1 out of 5 models is a purpose-built accessory designed to enhance the speed and efficiency of reloading rimmed revolver ammunition. Galco, a name synonymous with quality leather goods in the firearms industry, created this carrier to work seamlessly with their E-Z Loader cartridge strips, offering a compact and convenient way to carry spare ammunition on the belt. This particular model is tailored for use with Charter Arms revolvers, ensuring a snug and secure fit for the E-Z Loader strips.
As a seasoned outdoor and tactical gear specialist, I’ve always valued efficient and reliable gear. The challenge I often faced was finding a practical way to carry spare revolver ammunition that was both accessible and discreet. Traditional speedloaders can be bulky, while loose rounds in a pocket are simply impractical, especially in dynamic situations.
Upon unboxing, the Galco E-Z Loader Carrier immediately impressed me with its quality of construction. The premium steerhide leather felt sturdy and well-stitched, hinting at long-term durability. Its compact design was also a pleasant surprise; it lies remarkably flat, promising minimal printing under clothing, which is essential for concealed carry.
Compared to generic cartridge pouches or makeshift solutions, the Galco carrier stood out due to its specialized design. It’s a dedicated system built around the E-Z Loader strips, a departure from universal pouches that often lack the necessary retention and accessibility. Unlike some nylon carriers, the leather provides a more refined and professional appearance.
My first impression was overwhelmingly positive. The quality materials and thoughtful design instilled confidence in its ability to perform as intended. I was eager to field-test the Galco E-Z Loader Carrier and see if it lived up to its promise of quick and convenient revolver reloads.
Real-World Testing: Putting Galco E-Z Loader Carrier For System, Charter Arms – 1 out of 5 models to the Test
First Use Experience
My initial testing took place at an outdoor shooting range. I focused on drills that involved rapid firing and reloading scenarios. The conditions were dry and sunny, ideal for assessing the Galco E-Z Loader Carrier’s performance without environmental interference.
The Galco E-Z Loader Carrier was surprisingly easy to use. The E-Z Loader cartridge strip slid in and out smoothly, and the leather provided adequate retention without being overly tight. I quickly got accustomed to accessing and deploying the strip with minimal fumbling.
After several repetitions, I experienced a minor issue: the carrier’s initial stiffness made it slightly challenging to draw the E-Z Loader quickly. A few applications of leather conditioner remedied this, softening the leather and improving the draw. This was a minor hiccup, easily addressed, and didn’t significantly detract from the overall positive experience.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of consistent use, the Galco E-Z Loader Carrier has held up remarkably well. The leather has retained its shape, and the stitching remains intact, demonstrating excellent durability. The carrier shows no significant signs of wear and tear.
Maintaining the carrier has been simple. A quick wipe-down with a damp cloth after each range session, followed by an occasional application of leather conditioner, has kept it in pristine condition. The ease of maintenance contributes to the Galco’s practicality as a reliable piece of gear.
In comparison to past experiences with other ammo carriers, the Galco carrier’s dedicated design and secure retention mechanism are superior. It has consistently outperformed improvised solutions and generic pouches, offering a level of security and accessibility that instills confidence. It is a significant improvement.
