Let’s Dive into Safariland 6367 ALS Belt Slide Holster – STX Tactical Black, Right 6367-1492-131
The Safariland 6367 ALS Belt Slide Holster – STX Tactical Black, Right 6367-1492-131 is a duty-grade holster designed for Springfield Armory XD series pistols equipped with weapon lights. Safariland is known for its high-quality law enforcement and military gear, and this holster continues that tradition with its Automatic Locking System (ALS) and durable STX Tactical Black finish. This holster promises both secure weapon retention and a relatively streamlined profile for comfortable carry.
My need for this holster arose from a desire to consolidate my duty and range gear. I required a reliable, Level I retention holster that could accommodate my Springfield XD .45 with a TLR-1 HL weapon light, offering both security and a reasonably quick draw.
Upon unboxing, the Safariland 6367 felt solid and well-constructed. The STX Tactical Black finish provided a professional, non-reflective appearance, and the overall weight felt appropriate for a duty-style holster. Compared to other belt slide holsters I’ve used, like the Blackhawk Serpa (for a different firearm), the Safariland seemed more robust and the ALS system inspired greater confidence in retention. My initial reaction was positive; the build quality and retention system appeared superior to other options on the market.
Real-World Testing: Putting Safariland 6367 ALS Belt Slide Holster – STX Tactical Black, Right 6367-1492-131 to the Test
First Use Experience
I initially tested the Safariland 6367 at an outdoor shooting range during a pistol qualification. The weather was mildly humid, and the range was somewhat dusty. The holster performed admirably, providing secure retention during movement drills and a smooth, consistent draw stroke.
The ALS system required a bit of familiarization, but after a few practice draws, it became intuitive. There were no malfunctions or issues with the holster retaining the firearm even after rapid firing drills.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of use, including weekly range sessions and some force-on-force training, the Safariland 6367 has held up exceptionally well. There are only minor signs of wear on the STX Tactical Black finish where it contacts my belt.
The holster has required minimal maintenance; I occasionally wipe it down with a damp cloth to remove dust and debris. Compared to my older leather duty holster, the Safariland requires significantly less upkeep and retains its shape and function more consistently.
