These sights combine tritium and fiber optic technologies, offering a versatile solution for both daytime and nighttime shooting. Ameriglo, a well-respected name in the firearms industry, aims to provide a reliable and durable upgrade to factory sights.
As a seasoned outdoor and tactical gear specialist, I’ve spent countless hours on the range and in the field. My aging eyes were finding it harder to quickly acquire targets, especially in varied lighting. I needed a sight system that provided a clear and bright sight picture in all conditions, something better than the standard polymer sights on my M&P.
Upon unboxing the Ameriglo sights, I immediately noticed the robust construction and clean lines. The steel sights felt solid and well-machined, inspiring confidence in their durability. The tritium vials glowed softly, and the fiber optic elements appeared vibrant, even in normal indoor lighting.
I considered Trijicon HD sights and the XS Sights F8 Night Sights. However, the Ameriglo set offered a compelling balance of features and affordability. The price point, combined with the positive reviews I’d read about Ameriglo‘s reliability, ultimately swayed my decision.
My first impression was one of excitement. The sights looked and felt like a serious upgrade to my M&P. I was eager to get them installed and see how they performed on the range.

First Use Experience
My initial testing took place at an indoor shooting range. The controlled environment allowed me to focus solely on the sights’ performance. I tested the sights in both bright light and with the range lights dimmed to simulate low-light conditions.
The Ameriglo sights were incredibly easy to acquire in both lighting scenarios. The bright fiber optic front sight stood out prominently against the darker rear sight, making target acquisition fast and intuitive. Transitioning between targets felt smoother and more natural compared to my old sights.
I did not anticipate how much easier follow-up shots would be. The bright front sight kept my focus on the target, allowing for quicker and more accurate groupings. There were no installation issues, and the sights performed flawlessly right out of the box.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of regular use, the Ameriglo sights have proven to be incredibly reliable. I’ve used them in various outdoor conditions, including rainy days and dusty environments, without any noticeable impact on performance. The tritium lamps continue to glow brightly, providing excellent visibility in the dark.
The sights show minimal signs of wear and tear. The finish has held up well to repeated holster draws and general handling. Cleaning is straightforward; a simple wipe down with a gun cleaning cloth is usually all that’s required.
Having used other night sights in the past, these Ameriglo sights are proving to be superior in terms of both brightness and durability. They offer a noticeable improvement in low-light target acquisition, and their robust construction ensures they can withstand the rigors of regular use. These are a notable upgrade over stock Glock sights I have used in the past, offering more visibility in all lighting conditions.
