Eylar aims to provide a case that can withstand the rigors of travel and outdoor adventures while keeping your equipment safe from the elements. This review dives deep into its features, performance, and overall value to determine if it lives up to the hype.
I needed a reliable case for my precision rifle when traveling to out-of-state competitions. My existing soft case offered minimal protection and didn’t inspire confidence when entrusting it to baggage handlers.
Upon receiving the Eylar 20in Intact Premium Series Waterproof Hard Casew/Foam, my initial impression was positive. The case felt solid and well-built, with a reassuring heft that suggested robust construction.
Compared to Pelican’s offerings, which are significantly more expensive, and Plano’s, which often feel flimsy, the Eylar case seemed to strike a good balance. I chose it for its advertised waterproof rating and perceived value for the price.
I was cautiously optimistic. The price point made me slightly wary of potential compromises in quality, but the advertised features and positive online reviews piqued my interest.
Real-World Testing: Putting Eylar 20in Intact Premium Series Waterproof Hard Casew/Foam to the Test
First Use Experience
My first test involved a trip to the local shooting range on a particularly damp and drizzly day. I transported my competition rifle, along with sensitive electronic equipment like a rangefinder and ballistic calculator, inside the Eylar 20in Intact Premium Series Waterproof Hard Casew/Foam.
The case handled the wet conditions admirably. Upon arriving home, the interior was bone dry, confirming the effectiveness of the waterproof seal.
The latches were initially stiff, requiring a bit of effort to open and close, but they felt secure. After a couple of uses, they became easier to operate.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of use, including multiple trips to the range and a week-long hunting excursion, the Eylar 20in Intact Premium Series Waterproof Hard Casew/Foam has proven to be a dependable companion. The case has endured being tossed in truck beds, stacked with other gear, and exposed to mud, rain, and even a brief encounter with a snow flurry.
There are a few minor scuff marks on the exterior, but the case’s structural integrity remains intact. The foam interior shows no signs of degradation and continues to hold my equipment securely.
Cleaning the case is simple. A quick wipe-down with a damp cloth removes most dirt and grime, and the waterproof seal prevents any moisture from seeping inside during cleaning.
The Eylar case has significantly outperformed my previous experiences with soft cases. It provides a level of protection and peace of mind that soft cases simply cannot match.
