Point Blank Duty Gear Handcuff Pouch w/ASP Cuffs Review

First Impressions of Point Blank Duty Gear Handcuff Pouch w/ASP Cuffs

The Point Blank Duty Gear Handcuff Pouch w/ASP Cuffs is a seemingly simple piece of kit, but a critical one for law enforcement and security professionals. It’s a dedicated pouch designed to securely hold ASP (or similar hinged) handcuffs, offering quick and reliable access when seconds count. Point Blank is a well-respected name in duty gear, and I was interested to see if this pouch lived up to their reputation for quality and functionality.

I needed a reliable and readily accessible way to carry my ASP handcuffs without worrying about them falling out or snagging. Many generic handcuff pouches I’ve used in the past are either too loose, too bulky, or lack sufficient retention. This leads to fumbling and delays in critical situations.

My initial impression upon receiving the Point Blank Duty Gear Handcuff Pouch w/ASP Cuffs was positive. The construction felt solid, the material seemed durable, and the design appeared well-thought-out for rapid deployment. It felt less bulky than some of the double-cuff pouches I’ve previously carried.

Compared to a generic nylon pouch I had been using, the Point Blank option felt much more secure. Unlike a full flap pouch from Safariland, which offers greater protection but sacrifices speed, the Point Blank Duty Gear Handcuff Pouch w/ASP Cuffs seemed to strike a good balance between retention and accessibility. I chose this Point Blank pouch hoping to find a better balance of quick access and security for my cuffs.

I was cautiously optimistic, impressed by the initial build quality but eager to test its performance in real-world scenarios. The promise of a preformed opening and secure snap retention piqued my interest.
