As a tactical gear specialist, I’ve spent years searching for the perfect balance of speed, security, and comfort in a holster. The older Level II retention holster I was using for my FN FNP-45 had served its purpose, but I needed something with a more streamlined draw and better protection against unauthorized access in close-quarters scenarios.
Upon unboxing, the Safariland 6004 SLS Tactical Holster – STX Tactical Black, Right Hand 6004-261-121 exuded quality. The STX Tactical Black finish was clean and professional. The holster felt robust and well-constructed without being overly bulky, instilling immediate confidence.
Compared to similar offerings from Blackhawk and Galco, the Safariland 6004 SLS Tactical Holster – STX Tactical Black, Right Hand 6004-261-121 stood out due to its specific fit for the FN FNP-45 and the reputation of Safariland’s SLS retention system. I had previously experienced issues with the Blackhawk’s Serpa system in high-stress situations and wanted a more intuitive and secure locking mechanism. The Galco option, while beautifully crafted, lacked the tactical focus of the Safariland.
My first impression was one of excitement. The Safariland 6004 SLS Tactical Holster – STX Tactical Black, Right Hand 6004-261-121 felt like a purpose-built tool, not just another accessory.
