First Impressions of Elite Tactical Systems Omega S&W M&P 9mm Luger 32 Round Extended Pistol Magazine
The Elite Tactical Systems (ETS) Omega S&W M&P 9mm Luger 32 Round Extended Pistol Magazine promises to dramatically increase your firepower in a reliable and ergonomic package. This isn’t just about more rounds; it’s about enhanced handling, quicker reloads, and increased confidence in critical situations. The clear polymer construction also allows for instant round count assessment.
My journey to finding this magazine began with a need for increased capacity at local 3-gun competitions. I was consistently losing valuable seconds reloading my standard 17-round magazines. The promise of 32 rounds in a single magazine was immediately appealing, especially if it could maintain the reliability of a factory magazine.
Upon receiving the ETS Omega magazine, my first impression was of its solid construction and translucent polymer body. It felt robust without being excessively heavy, and the ability to visually inspect the remaining rounds was a definite plus. The ergonomic floor plate also seemed well-designed for quick retrieval from a magazine pouch.
Compared to standard S&W M&P magazines and even some aftermarket extended magazines, the ETS Omega stood out with its larger capacity and unique aesthetics. I had previously used a Magpul PMAG 17 GL9 for my Glock 19, and the ETS Omega felt similar in terms of polymer quality, but with a more aggressive and functional floor plate design. Ultimately, I chose the ETS Omega for its combination of high capacity, clear body, and compatibility with Glock magazine extensions, offering future customization options.
My initial excitement was tempered with a bit of skepticism regarding reliability, as extended magazines can sometimes be prone to feeding issues. However, the overall design and positive online reviews gave me confidence that this magazine would perform as advertised.
Real-World Testing: Putting Elite Tactical Systems Omega S&W M&P 9mm Luger 32 Round Extended Pistol Magazine to the Test
First Use Experience
My first real-world test of the Elite Tactical Systems Omega S&W M&P 9mm Luger 32 Round Extended Pistol Magazine was at my local outdoor shooting range. I ran several drills, including rapid fire and controlled pairs, to assess its performance under pressure. The magazine was loaded and reloaded multiple times, simulating the stress of a competition environment.
The magazine performed flawlessly under these conditions. I experienced no feeding issues, and the rounds chambered smoothly every time. The ergonomic floor plate design also proved its worth, allowing for quick and easy magazine changes, even with gloved hands.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of consistent use, the ETS Omega magazine has proven to be remarkably durable and reliable. It has endured numerous range sessions, exposed to varying weather conditions, including rain and dusty environments. There are no signs of cracking or significant wear on the polymer body.
Cleaning the magazine is relatively simple, requiring only a quick wipe down with a cloth and some solvent to remove any residue. Disassembly is also easy thanks to the specially designed base plate. Compared to some other aftermarket magazines I’ve used in the past, the ETS Omega has significantly outperformed them in terms of durability and consistent feeding.
