First Impressions of Axcel LANDSLYDE Slider Tactical Bowhunting Sight 1501966
The Axcel LANDSLYDE Slider Tactical Bowhunting Sight 1501966 promises precision and ruggedness for the serious archer. With its AccuStat II Micro pin setup, silent gear adjustments, and multi-axis adjustability, it seemed like the perfect upgrade to my aging sight. Axcel has a reputation for quality, and the Landslyde appeared to be a flagship product.
I was tired of my old sight constantly losing zero after a few bumps in the field. I needed something that could withstand the rigors of backcountry hunting and still deliver pinpoint accuracy when the moment of truth arrived. The Axcel LANDSLYDE Slider Tactical Bowhunting Sight 1501966, with its promise of durability and precise adjustability, felt like the answer.
Unboxing the sight, I was immediately impressed with the solid feel and quality of the materials. The black finish looked sleek and professional, and the adjustments felt smooth and precise. The weight felt substantial, instilling confidence in its ability to handle abuse in the field.
I considered the Spot Hogg Fast Eddie XL and the HHA Tetra Max before settling on the Axcel LANDSLYDE Slider Tactical Bowhunting Sight 1501966. The Spot Hogg felt a bit bulky, while the HHA, although known for its simplicity, lacked the micro-adjustments I desired. The Axcel offered a good balance of ruggedness and precision features, justifying the slightly higher price point in my mind.
My initial impression was one of excitement mixed with a touch of apprehension. This sight looked like it could significantly improve my accuracy and confidence in the field, but I knew the real test would come with actual use. Would it live up to the hype, or would it be another expensive piece of gear collecting dust?
Real-World Testing: Putting Axcel LANDSLYDE Slider Tactical Bowhunting Sight 1501966 to the Test
First Use Experience
I first tested the Axcel LANDSLYDE Slider Tactical Bowhunting Sight 1501966 at my local archery range. I was preparing for an elk hunt in the rugged mountains of Colorado. The range provided a controlled environment to dial in the sight before facing the unpredictable conditions of the backcountry.

The sight performed flawlessly throughout the day, maintaining its zero even after getting soaked during the downpour. The adjustments were easy to make, even with wet hands.
The initial setup took a bit longer than expected, as I meticulously adjusted the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd axis to ensure perfect alignment. Once dialed in, the sight was incredibly easy to use, with smooth and silent gear action for precise elevation adjustments. My initial shots were noticeably tighter than with my old sight.
After the first use, I was extremely impressed with the Axcel LANDSLYDE Slider Tactical Bowhunting Sight 1501966. I anticipated the learning curve, but the accuracy and stability were noticeable from the start. It instilled a sense of confidence that I hadn’t felt with my previous setup.
