Tethrd SYS Hauler Review

First Impressions of Tethrd SYS Hauler

The Tethrd SYS Hauler is marketed as the OG ultralight saddle hunting storage system, and as a seasoned saddle hunter, I was intrigued. Tethrd promises a simple, one-handed quick connect method, allowing the hauler to stay comfortably on your saddle or be easily detached. My goal was to find a streamlined, silent way to carry my tether, lineman’s belt, and other essential accessories, eliminating the noisy fumbling that can spook game.

For years, I’ve struggled with bulky pouches or makeshift systems, often resulting in tangled ropes and frustrating delays. I’ve tested numerous options, from repurposed camera bags to modified MOLLE pouches, none quite hitting the mark of lightweight convenience and silent operation. The SYS Hauler’s minimalist design and quick-disconnect system immediately appealed to my desire for a more efficient setup.

Upon unboxing, the initial impression was positive. The coyote color is practical and blends well with natural environments. The materials felt lightweight yet durable, with a focus on quiet fabrics designed to minimize noise. Compared to a traditional pouch or a DIY system, the SYS Hauler seemed far more purpose-built and refined.

Compared to similar products like the Muddy Outdoors Gear Hoist or the Hawk Treestand Accessory Bag, the Tethrd SYS Hauler stands out due to its modularity and specifically designed quick-connect system. I chose the SYS Hauler because of Tethrd’s reputation for quality saddle hunting gear and the promise of a truly ultralight and silent solution. I was cautiously optimistic, hoping the SYS Hauler would live up to the hype and finally solve my saddle hunting storage woes.

Real-World Testing: Putting Tethrd SYS Hauler to the Test

First Use Experience

I first tested the Tethrd SYS Hauler during a whitetail hunt in the hardwood forests of northern Wisconsin. The morning was damp and chilly, typical for late October. I wanted to assess how the hauler performed in less-than-ideal conditions.

The quick-connect system proved to be incredibly easy to use, even with gloved hands. Attaching and detaching the hauler from my saddle was swift and silent. The SYS Hauler kept my tether and lineman’s belt neatly organized, preventing any tangling during setup.

I did notice that the lighter weight of the system meant that in high winds, the tether and lineman’s rope could be blown around. Securing them slightly with the use of the hauler was critical to keep them from catching on branches. Despite that, I experienced no issues or surprises during my first hunt.

Extended Use & Reliability

After several weeks of consistent use, the Tethrd SYS Hauler has proven to be a reliable and durable addition to my saddle hunting setup. There are no signs of wear and tear on the fabric or stitching. It is clear that Tethrd prioritized quality in the construction of this hauler.

The SYS Hauler requires minimal maintenance. A quick wipe down with a damp cloth is usually sufficient to remove any mud or debris. Compared to previous systems that required constant adjustments and repairs, the SYS Hauler is a welcome improvement.

The Tethrd SYS Hauler has significantly outperformed my expectations and previous experiences. Its lightweight design, silent operation, and ease of use have made it an indispensable part of my saddle hunting kit. The durability and quick access that the SYS Hauler provided were noticeable improvements.
