First Impressions of Axcel ArmorTech Lite Pro Sight
The Axcel ArmorTech Lite Pro Sight promises a blend of rugged durability and precise adjustability for serious archers. Axcel is a well-respected name in the archery world, known for high-quality sights, and the ArmorTech Lite Pro aims to deliver that reputation in a lightweight package. I was particularly intrigued by the complete sight leveling capability and the individual micro-adjustable pins, features that could drastically improve my long-range accuracy.
For years, I’ve struggled with sight adjustments on lesser models, often finding myself frustrated by imprecise movements and unreliable leveling. This led me to search for a sight that offered a truly customizable and stable platform. I was looking for a sight that could withstand the rigors of the hunt while providing the pinpoint accuracy needed for ethical shots.
Unboxing the Axcel ArmorTech Lite Pro Sight, my first impression was of solid, well-machined construction. The sight felt lightweight yet robust, and the black finish gave it a sleek, professional look. Compared to my old Trophy Ridge sight, the ArmorTech Lite Pro felt significantly more refined, with smoother adjustments and a more substantial mounting bracket.
I considered the Spot Hogg Fast Eddie XL and the Black Gold Ascent Verdict as well. However, the Axcel stood out due to its complete leveling system and reputation for bomb-proof durability. My initial excitement stemmed from the promise of finally having a sight that I could trust to hold its zero and allow me to make precise adjustments in any hunting scenario.
Real-World Testing: Putting Axcel ArmorTech Lite Pro Sight to the Test
First Use Experience
I first tested the Axcel ArmorTech Lite Pro Sight at my local archery range, a controlled environment that allowed me to meticulously dial in my settings. The range offers distances out to 80 yards, providing ample space to test the sight’s long-range capabilities. The weather was typical for early spring: cool with a slight drizzle.
Even in the less-than-ideal light conditions, the 0.010″ pins shone brightly, making target acquisition quick and easy. The micro-adjustments were incredibly precise, allowing me to fine-tune my pin settings with minimal effort. The in-housing level bubble provided a quick and reliable reference, ensuring my bow was perfectly vertical for each shot. Initially, I spent about an hour getting acquainted with the sight, adjusting pin brightness with the rheostat, and making sure I was comfortable with the sight picture.
After the first few shots, I noticed a significant improvement in my grouping, particularly at longer distances. The true 2nd and 3rd axis adjustability allowed me to eliminate any cant in my bow, resulting in more consistent arrow flight. There were no surprises, except for how quickly I was able to zero in at 60 yards!
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of use, the Axcel ArmorTech Lite Pro Sight has proven to be an incredibly reliable and durable piece of equipment. I have used it extensively at the range, as well as during multiple hunting trips in varying weather conditions. From scorching summer days to cold, wet autumn hunts, the sight has performed flawlessly.
There are minimal signs of wear and tear, despite being subjected to the bumps and scrapes that come with being in the field. The sight cleans easily with a damp cloth, and the fibers have remained bright and vibrant. Compared to my previous experiences with cheaper sights, the Axcel has exceeded my expectations in terms of durability, reliability, and overall performance.
