Upon unboxing, the first thing I noticed was the robust build quality. The scope felt solid and well-constructed, suggesting durability and precision. The black finish was clean and professional, and the modular design was immediately apparent.
I’ve used scopes from Shrewd and Sure-Loc in the past. Both offer good quality, but the Axcel AVX-31‘s modularity seemed to offer a greater degree of personalization. The inclusion of the Doc’s Choice lens was also a deciding factor.
Initially, I was excited by the potential for customization and improved accuracy. However, I was slightly apprehensive about the complexity of the modular system. Would it be easy to adjust and configure, or would it become cumbersome in the field?
Real-World Testing: Putting Axcel AVX-31 Scope Lens Combo 1408292 to the Test
First Use Experience
I tested the Axcel AVX-31 Scope Lens Combo 1408292 at my local archery range. The day was overcast, providing a challenging lighting condition for testing clarity. I used the scope on my target bow, focusing on hitting consistent groupings at 50 meters.
The scope performed admirably even in the dim light. The Doc’s Choice lens provided a clear image, and the 6x magnification allowed for precise target acquisition. The adjustment knobs were easy to manipulate, even with gloves on.
The only minor issue I encountered was a slight glare from the lens in certain angles. However, I believe this can be mitigated with the addition of a sunshade, one of the Axcel AVX-31‘s modular add-ons. Overall, the initial experience was very positive.

Maintenance is simple: a quick wipe-down with a lens cloth keeps the glass clean. The modular design allows for easy access to the lens for cleaning and replacement if needed. Compared to cheaper scopes I’ve used, the Axcel is a significant improvement in both performance and durability.
