First Impressions of Spot-Hogg Fast Eddie PM MRT Sight 1209717
The Spot-Hogg Fast Eddie PM MRT Sight 1209717 promises a blend of rugged reliability and user-friendly design tailored for the serious hunter. Spot-Hogg has a reputation for building bomb-proof sights, and the Fast Eddie PM MRT seems to continue that legacy with the added benefit of micro-adjustability and a multi-ring technology (MRT) sight housing. This sight immediately caught my attention with its promise of silent operation and durable construction.
For years, I wrestled with sights that were either too bulky, too noisy, or simply didn’t hold zero after a tough day in the field. I needed a sight that could withstand the rigors of backcountry hunts, offer precise adjustments for varying distances, and most importantly, remain silent when drawing back on a trophy buck. The Spot-Hogg Fast Eddie PM MRT Sight 1209717 seemed to tick all those boxes.
Unboxing the Fast Eddie PM MRT, the first thing I noticed was its solid, almost over-engineered construction. The all-aluminum frame felt incredibly robust, and the black finish gave it a sleek, tactical look. Picking it up, it had a reassuring weight, not too heavy to be cumbersome, but substantial enough to suggest quality materials.
I was torn between this and the Axcel Landslyde and the Black Gold Ascent Verdict. Ultimately, I chose the Spot-Hogg Fast Eddie PM MRT Sight 1209717 because of Spot-Hogg’s reputation for unparalleled durability and the Fast Eddie’s simpler, more streamlined design. The micro-adjustments also seemed superior to the adjustment mechanisms on other sights.
My first impression was one of excited anticipation. This sight felt like it could finally solve my problems with flimsy and unreliable sights that always seemed to let me down at the worst possible moment. The Spot-Hogg Fast Eddie PM MRT Sight 1209717 felt like a serious piece of gear for serious hunters.
Real-World Testing: Putting Spot-Hogg Fast Eddie PM MRT Sight 1209717 to the Test
First Use Experience
I took the Spot-Hogg Fast Eddie PM MRT Sight 1209717 to my local archery range and then out on a simulated hunt in the nearby state forest. The range provided a controlled environment for initial setup and sighting in, while the forest tested its performance in real-world hunting conditions.
The sight performed admirably in both environments, even after an unexpected downpour during my simulated hunt. The pins remained bright and clear even in low light conditions, and the yardage adjustments were smooth and precise. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to get used to the sight, despite its advanced features.
The only minor issue I encountered during first use was figuring out the exact tension I preferred on the yardage knob. After a few adjustments, I dialed it in perfectly and experienced no further problems.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of consistent use, the Spot-Hogg Fast Eddie PM MRT Sight 1209717 continues to impress. It has been subjected to multiple hunts, countless range sessions, and the general abuse that comes with being an avid outdoorsman.
Despite being bumped, scraped, and exposed to the elements, the sight shows no signs of wear and tear beyond a few minor cosmetic blemishes. The pins are still bright, the adjustments are still smooth, and most importantly, the sight continues to hold zero perfectly. Cleaning is easy. A quick wipe down with a damp cloth is usually all it takes to remove dirt and grime.
Compared to previous sights I’ve used, the Spot-Hogg Fast Eddie PM MRT Sight 1209717 is in a league of its own. Its durability, precision, and ease of use far exceed anything I’ve experienced before, making it a worthwhile investment for any serious archer.
