First Impressions of Powder River Precision Springfield Echelon Trigger
The Springfield Echelon is a fantastic pistol, a modular powerhouse making waves in the firearms world. However, like many factory triggers, it leaves something to be desired for those seeking enhanced precision and a crisper feel. Enter the Powder River Precision Springfield Echelon Trigger, promising a significant upgrade in trigger performance. This trigger aims to reduce take-up, travel, and reset, all while offering a unique hybrid flat/curved trigger shoe. I was eager to see if it lived up to the hype and could transform the Echelon’s trigger into something truly exceptional.
My motivation for seeking this trigger was simple: I wanted to unlock the Echelon’s full potential. While the stock trigger was functional, it lacked the crispness and responsiveness I prefer, especially for accurate target shooting and drills. I was hoping the Powder River Precision trigger would provide a lighter, smoother, and more predictable pull.
Upon unboxing the Powder River Precision Springfield Echelon Trigger, I was immediately impressed by the build quality. The trigger and trigger safety are CNC machined from 6061 Aluminum and finished with a clean anodized coating. The hybrid flat/curved trigger shoe felt comfortable to the touch.
I considered other aftermarket triggers, but Powder River Precision has a solid reputation for quality and performance. The advertised reduction in take-up and reset, along with the hybrid trigger shoe, is what ultimately swayed my decision. My first impression was one of cautious optimism – the trigger looked and felt great, but the real test would be how it performed in the Echelon.

After several weeks of consistent use, I can confidently say the Powder River Precision Springfield Echelon Trigger has proven its worth. It has held up incredibly well. There are no signs of wear and tear on the trigger itself.
Cleaning the trigger mechanism during routine firearm maintenance is straightforward. A quick wipe down with a solvent-dampened cloth is all it typically needs.
