First Impressions of Edifier R1700BT Powered 2.0 Bookshelf Speakers
The Edifier R1700BT Powered 2.0 Bookshelf Speakers promise a versatile audio experience, bridging the gap between home entertainment and professional sound quality. From the Edifier name, I anticipated a well-engineered product, but I was keen to see if these speakers could truly deliver on their promise of exceptional sound and modern convenience.
My aging sound system finally gave out, leaving me searching for a replacement that could handle everything from music streaming to amplifying the audio from my gaming console. Bluetooth connectivity was a must, and I wanted something that wouldn’t break the bank while still providing a significant audio upgrade.
Unboxing the Edifier R1700BT, I was immediately struck by the classic aesthetic. The walnut vinyl finish exudes a touch of elegance, and the angled design hints at a thoughtful approach to sound projection. The speakers felt solid and well-built, certainly more substantial than the price point suggested.
I considered the Klipsch R-41PM and the Audioengine A5+ Wireless speakers. The Klipsch offered a similar price point, but the Edifier’s design appealed to me more. The Audioengine A5+ Wireless were more expensive, pushing the Edifier R1700BT into a sweet spot of features and affordability.
My first impression was one of cautious optimism. These speakers looked the part, but the real test would be in the listening.

After several weeks of daily use, the Edifier R1700BT speakers have proven to be reliable and consistent.
