First Impressions of Lynch Mob Calls American Patriot Box Call
The Lynch Mob Calls American Patriot Box Call promises to be more than just a turkey call; it’s an embodiment of heritage and performance. Lynch Mob Calls, a name synonymous with quality in the turkey hunting world, has introduced this call as the newest member of their family. Its promise of “Amazing Range and Tone” immediately piqued my interest, as I’m always seeking a call that can reach out across a wide field and deliver a convincing hen sound.
I was on the hunt for a box call that offered versatility without sacrificing tonal quality. Having used several diaphragm calls with limited success, I sought a reliable and user-friendly option for varied turkey hunting scenarios. The American Patriot Box Call stood out due to its two-sided design and the use of different wood types, promising distinct hen sounds from a single instrument.
Unboxing the Lynch Mob Calls American Patriot Box Call, the first thing I noticed was its compact size and the contrasting colors of the wood. The poplar base felt solid and well-constructed, and the cherry lid had a smooth, refined finish. The overall build quality seemed excellent, suggesting a durable instrument capable of withstanding the rigors of the field.
Compared to other box calls I’ve used, such as the Primos Heartbreaker and the Quaker Boy Easy Yelper, the American Patriot felt more refined and intentionally designed for tonal variation. While the Primos call focused primarily on ease of use, and the Quaker Boy on a consistent yelp, the Lynch Mob Call seemed to aim for a wider range of calls within a smaller package. I chose the American Patriot for its potential to produce both raspy and young hen sounds, offering greater flexibility in calling strategies.
My first impression was one of cautious optimism. The call felt good in hand, and the materials exuded quality. The expectation was high, and only time and testing would reveal if the Lynch Mob Calls American Patriot Box Call could live up to its potential.
Real-World Testing: Putting **Lynch Mob Calls American Patriot Box Call** to the Test
First Use Experience
My first field test of the Lynch Mob Calls American Patriot Box Call took place during a late-season turkey hunt in the rolling hills of Kentucky. The terrain offered a mix of open fields and dense hardwood forests, presenting a range of calling scenarios. The weather was damp and cool, with a slight drizzle adding a challenge to the hunt.
The American Patriot performed admirably, even in the less-than-ideal conditions. The sound carried surprisingly well across the open fields, and the cherry lid maintained its grip even with damp hands. Its ease of use was immediately apparent; I quickly grasped the nuances of producing different yelps and clucks on each side. After a short learning curve, I was able to reproduce convincing hen sounds.
Initially, the call required some fine-tuning to achieve the desired rasp, but this was easily accomplished with a bit of chalk on the striking surface. No major issues arose during the first hunt, but the true test would come with prolonged use.

Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of consistent use across multiple hunting trips and practice sessions, the Lynch Mob Calls American Patriot Box Call has proven to be a reliable and durable piece of equipment. It has seen use in varying conditions, from dry and dusty mornings to humid afternoons, and has consistently delivered. The call retains its tone, and the wood shows no signs of warping or cracking.
Minor scuff marks are visible on the poplar base from being carried in a vest, but this is purely cosmetic. Cleaning is straightforward, requiring only a dry cloth to remove any dirt or debris. Periodic chalking of the striking surface is necessary to maintain optimal sound quality. It definitely outperforms several cheaper box calls I’ve used in the past, holding its tune far better and projecting sound more effectively.
