First Impressions of 5.11 Tactical Ryker DP Full Folding Knife
The 5.11 Tactical Ryker DP Full Folding Knife is presented as an everyday carry (EDC) option designed for durability and a confident grip. 5.11 Tactical aims to blend practicality with tactical functionality in a knife that’s ready for demanding tasks.
For years, I’ve relied on my trusted Gerber for my daily cutting needs. However, I was seeking a knife with a more robust blade steel and a comfortable grip for extended use, especially during my outdoor excursions. This led me to explore the Ryker DP Full.
Upon unboxing, the Ryker DP Full impressed me with its solid feel and clean design. The G10 handle provides a textured grip, and the blade opens smoothly with a satisfying click. The weight feels substantial without being cumbersome.
I considered the Benchmade Bugout and the Spyderco Paramilitary 2, both popular EDC knives. The Ryker DP Full, however, seemed to offer a similar level of durability at a more accessible price point, fitting my criteria perfectly. The four-position clip was also a major selling point.
Initially, I was impressed by the knife’s sturdy construction and comfortable ergonomics. I am excited to put it through its paces in the field and assess its long-term performance.
