As an experienced outdoor and tactical gear specialist, I’m always looking for reliable and efficient equipment to enhance my shooting experience, and the promise of a durable, stainless steel solution caught my eye.

Years of setting up steel targets have taught me the importance of a reliable hanging system. Too many times I’ve seen chains break or hardware fail, leading to potentially dangerous ricochets. The promise of stainless steel and a complete hardware package from EZ-Aim suggested a well-thought-out, durable solution that I was eager to try.

Real-World Testing: Putting EZ-Aim Gong Stainless Steel Target Chain Kit to the Test

First Use Experience

I tested the EZ-Aim Gong Stainless Steel Target Chain Kit at my local shooting range, a place that sees everything from .22 plinkers to high-powered rifle rounds. I set up a 12-inch steel gong at a distance of 100 yards, using the kit to suspend the target from a sturdy target stand. The conditions were dry with a slight breeze, ideal for shooting.

The kit was easy to install, and the quick links made attaching the chains to the gong and the stand a breeze. The gong swung freely and presented a clear target. After a few rounds of .223 and 9mm, the chains held up without any noticeable wear or deformation.

I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly I could set up the target, a significant improvement over using rope, which always seemed to require endless knots and adjustments. There were no immediate issues. The chains held securely, and the gong rang out loud and clear with each hit.

Extended Use & Reliability

After several months of regular use, the EZ-Aim Gong Stainless Steel Target Chain Kit has proven to be remarkably durable. I’ve used it in various weather conditions, including rain and snow, and the stainless steel has shown no signs of rust or corrosion. The chains remain strong, and the hardware continues to function flawlessly.

The kit has shown minimal wear and tear. Despite repeated impacts from various calibers, the chains have maintained their integrity, and the quick links still open and close smoothly. I’ve only had to occasionally tighten the bolts and nuts to ensure a secure connection.

Maintenance is simple. A quick wipe down with a cloth after each use is all that’s needed to keep the kit in good condition. Compared to my previous experiences with cheaper chains that quickly became rusty and brittle, the EZ-Aim Gong Stainless Steel Target Chain Kit has significantly outperformed them.
